It was all fucked up. She looked at him, furious to the limit, and only her eyes betrayed how she felt toward him. Talking about feelings: complicated matter. Frankly she did not think that even such an outstanding mind as this, which Gibson boasted was able to completely understand feelings. So the only thing that came to her mind was the colloquial statement "this is fucked up."

Starting from the beginning, however, the most important was annoyance. Nova was always annoyed by the way he spoke. Always sure of himself, with a degree of arrogance in his voice, always throwing biting comments, which certainly were not currently in place. Another issue was the eternal flirtation, in which he propably set a world record. Not a day or even an hour, in which she would not want to apply her hand to his cheek - not necessarily in a gentle way.

After annoyance always came anger. Why did he have to be like that? Bring her to this state every time he appeared in sight. Nova really didn't want to hurt him but there were moments when she thought that putting an end to his existence would be by far the best option for her and the entire galaxy. But there was nothing she could do about it. Antauri always said that it's just the way he behaves, and that you can't change a person just because it is convenient for somebody. Of course he was right. Except that no one wanted anyone to change. The only thing Nova wanted was break from this kind of behavior.

And just then guilt was approaching. Because as if he was guided by the feeling that Nova won't stand it any longer he changed his behavior about 180 degrees. He became kind, just funny and sweet in his own way. Sometimes he even gained a dose of seriousness and then Nova felt guilt. Because kill her if even a moment ago she wasn't thinking of ,more or less, sophisticated murder. She thought. But how could she do this when all her body screamed "Kill him!" but her own eyes, decided betray and only screamed "you love him, stupid".

So that's how it was between them. She couldn't stand him, and he probably wondered how to put up with her every day. Gibson had told her that love can not be explained by any logical laws and that the line between feelings of love and hate is very thin. Nova guessed that he was right. But she never asked how Gibson knew it. Nova probably wouldn't want to know what is in the mind AND heart of the scientist. The only thing she knew was that love is fucked up. But she loved every second of it.
