There was absolutely no reason for the feelings welling inside of her. What difference did it make to her whom he spent his evening with? She held no claim to Lee Adama. Not that she wanted one of course. She stood at the bar aboard Cloud Nine contemplating his reaction. His eyes had nearly popped out of his head at the sight of her in a dress. The thought brought a delighted smile to her face. The problem was that now he was dancing with a brunette close enough to be considered intimate. Damn Lee Adama for making her feel this way. Her eyes roamed the ballroom looking for something to take her mind off of the ache in her chest. Closest to her Petty Officer Dualla was dancing with Billy, the Presidents aide. They were completely caught up in each other. Lost in their happiness. The way they were looking at each other made Kara take another swallow of her drink and curse Lee Adama for the moisture in her eyes. She cast her eyes about for anyone else she knew. Tigh and his wife Ellen came into her line of sight and she quickly looked away. Seeing those two together just grossed her out. The new vice was wrapped around a tall, leggy blonde and Kara couldn't care less.

This was when her eyes found the President and the 'Old Man'. They were dancing together on the edge of the dance floor. If she hadn't of known better she'd of sworn that they were together. The thought made her pause. As she watched Roslin step slightly closer in to her dance partner Kara considered the possibility. If she made him happy then why not. They both deserved a little happiness. Anyway the way they were dancing didn't outwardly scream 'Couple'. It was more the way his hand settled on her lower back and her fingers slid lightly a little way under the lapel of his uniform jacket. If they had found a little peace in each other then more power to them.

The sound of someone clearing their throat close to her brought the pilot from her reverie. Turning she found Gaius Baltar eyeing her in a way that made her feel as though he could see through the thin material of her dress. "Care to dance?" e asked. Downing the remainder of the ambrosia in her glass she allowed herself to be led out onto the dance floor. If she couldn't have Lee she might as well let her hair down.
