Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Commander William Thomas Riker glared at the view screen not quite believing what he was seeing. It was a creature who was so menacing that would –and was- drive fear into any being that in came into contact with. Its eyes were cold, and unemotional, as if the humanity that had once been there were just a distant memory or simply never existed.
Riker, despite the t revulsion that he was beginning to feel, found that he couldn't take his eyes off the screen. The creature that he saw before him was half machine and half man. It was not the man that he had come to know over the years. That person was gone. Riker planned on not showing this "thing" any mercy for what it had done.
On one side of him stood Data and Dr. Crusher, both of whom had gone over to the cube to try and retrieve what the Borg had taken. On the other was Commander Shelby, who had led the team, and behind them was Worf, the chief of Security. But they had been too late. And now they were all seeing the result. It was horrifying.
Why him? Riker thought to himself, why now? The second question really didn't matter right now. Riker knew what he had to do, as unpleasant as it was. He knew that what he had decided to do was the right thing. Picard would have done the same thing.
With a stern deter mention in his eyes, he said the words that made the others on the bridge look at him.
"Mr. Worf," he began evenly, "fire".
Forgive me Captain.
The End.
