The days passed by. The days turned to weeks, turned to months. Still, I trained. Everyday, I practiced with my shield, protecting my family, unprotect myself. The euphoria of our last battle with the Volturi never left. Renesmee continued to grow and learn, no alarm ever reaching my mind as I already knew what would happen. Life was perfect. I had Edward. I had my daughter. I had Jacob and my family. Still, I knew the Volturi weren't finished with us. I wasn't finished with them either…

"You may think so Bella, but you'll learn eventually that no one has ever loved another as I love you." Edward grinned as I allowed him to hear what I was thinking again.

Jacob's wolfy laugh could be heard through the clearing as he listened to us. We were on one of the family's camping trips. This time we were in Canada, tracking down a pack of Arctic Fox that Jacob claimed were mocking him. "Face it Edward, I've got the mind to prove it," I stated and then took off on a run as he tried to tackle me.

Renesmee jumped on Edward's back before he could catch me and he smiled as she put her hand to his face. "Yes, I can smell them too. I bet you can beat Jacob too."

Jacob's ears perk up and his wolfy grin appeared as he took off at a sprint, Renesmee almost literally on his tail. Emmett then turns to me with an evil smile. "Excellent! Now I get to tackle my little sister again!" He shifts into a crouch.

Rosalie rolls her eyes affectionately and she and Alice dart to my side. "Three against two boys, good luck!" I say as Edward gets beside his favorite brother.

"We'll see about that." Jasper's voice drawls forward as he strides beside his brothers.

We laugh. "Boys against girls, huh? I like these odds. Right girls?" Alice's chiming voice pipes up, the laughter in her voice clearly audible.

We all shift into crouches and I shield the girls from Edward's mind reading. He'd been pouting the past couple of months when he found out that he wasn't as good a fighter as he thought when he couldn't read his opponent's mind. It made him train along beside me though and I was getting better everyday.

Emmett leaps first, heading right for me, but Alice catches him in midair and they roll over in the snow, her laughter echoing over his curses. I took for Jasper. I'd grown to respect him over time. He was the best fighter I'd ever come to known and when the time comes, I knew that he'd be the only one able to face Demitri. He parried me easily and tackled me, causing us to roll around.

Edward leapt for Rose, but she sidestepped him and grabbed his waist, throwing him into Emmett who rolled off of Alice. I paused when I saw the look on her face. I lifted the shield and Edward looked over in confusion, then frozen shock as he saw what she did.

That look was all I needed. I screamed for Jacob and Renesmee who came running barely a second later. Their faces were layered with confusion and Edward, Alice, and I spoke in unison, "They're coming…"
