My Queen
Chapter 1: Sweet Meetings
Martin Riggs was standing beside his friend Roger Murtaugh. They were waiting on the Royal Carriage to get there. He didn't know why this Queen Mary didn't use a car or a limo. He stood there in his nice dark blue dress shirt and light colored jeans, and his boots. Roger looked over at him and sighed.
"You are meeting Royalty and you wear that?" He asked him.
"Yes Rog, I'm not like you, you in your fancy suit. That there is no way you can run in or move very well in." He made a point. Roger looked down, he was in a suit with dress shoes.
"Okay, point made." He said, and looked at the road. They saw a carriage coming. Avery walked over to them.
"That is her Ladies coming." He told them. The carriage stopped and they opened the door. Four young women got out and stood in a line facing them. They looked back and Riggs looked behind them and a white with gold trim carriage pulled up, and the door opened. He saw a young woman's hand grabbed onto the drivers. She stepped down and the bottom of her dress fell around her gold lace up over the knee heeled boots. He looked at her and she was as young as Avery had said. She was wearing a burgundy and gold satin gown, with embroidered and beaded bodice, and long lace sleeves. She walked over to them and stood in front of Riggs, Roger, Avery and Santos.
"Your Majesty." Avery said and the all bow and courtesy at her.
"Nice to meet all of you." She told them as the all leaned back up. She looked at Avery as he moved.
"This is Roger Murtaugh he will be you body guard and this is Martin Riggs, he will be your Ladies body guard." He told her. She looked at Roger and then back at Riggs. She pointed at Riggs and said.
"No, he will be my body guard." She said. Avery looked at her.
"Your Majesty, I think Murtaugh is better off…"
"No, he is not. Look at the way he is dress. He had to give chase, he couldn't. As for Mr. Riggs here, he can and plus he is ex navy seal. That is a good thing." She told him.
"As you wish your Majesty." Avery said and she move to call her Ladies over. Avery and Riggs looked at each other. Avery mouthed out "Behave." Riggs just smiled at him. He then looked at Roger and leaned over and said.
"Told ya." Roger gave him a look. They looked back at Mary as she move to introduce her Ladies.
"This is Greer, Lola, Kenna and Aylee." They step forward and courtesy at them. Riggs looked at each girl and then back at Mary. Mary was 5'4ft and he was 6'ft, the top of her head came to his nose. She had chocolate brown hair and honey brown eyes. She had somewhat of a tan to her skin, but yet was still milky white. Her make up was a natural look. Her hair was down and in a lose curl. The twenty one year old Queen glanced at him and both smiled at each other. She turned and walked to the mansion. She stopped at the steps and looked over at him. She smiled and said.
"One of the Kensington system rules." He looked at her and held out his hand and she took it and they walked up the stairs. Roger and the others look at each other.
"She has to have someone to hold her hand while she goes up and down the stairs. So that she doesn't fall." Greer leaned over and told them. They all walked in and she let go of Riggs's hand. They looked around the mansion and then went upstairs. Mary held Riggs's hand on the way up. She got to the top and they let go of each others hand. They moved to their rooms, her Ladies shared a room and Mary had her own. She looked and saw the room had a huge bed and a daybed as well. The room had couches in there as well. She looked around and Riggs stood by the door. She looked over at him. He smiled at her.
"Tell me about yourself." She said. He moved closer to her as he spoke.
"I grew up in Texas and I have not had a good childhood or past." He said and she looked at him.
"Are you married?" She asked him.
"No, I was…" She looked at him. "She passed and so did my son." He told her.
"Oh I'm so sorry." She said and moved over to him.
"It's okay, the pain is not as strong as it was." He told her.
"Still I'm sorry. I too have lost loved ones that I loved dearly. Not a husband or child but family members." She said and stood in front of him. They looked at each other and smiled.
"My I, asks Your Majesty, to tell me about yourself. I didn't know that Scotland had a Queen now." He spoke the truth.
"Oh, yes. My aunt The Queen. She gave the title to me. She said it would be good for me." She said and looked into his hazel brown eyes.
"Has it been?" He asked her.
"In a way yes, but other then that no." She said, and he tilted his head.
"How so?" He asked her.
"I have a lot of pressure to get married and to have a child. Then there is the matter of state to deal with. It is hard to be a queen." She said with a smile.
"I say it would be." Just then her Ladies and Roger walked in. They both looked at them.
"I'm sorry, did we interrupt something?" Greer asked.
"No, we were just talking." She said and looked at Riggs. She smile and walked over to her desk and sat down.
-Later-
Mary was in her room getting ready for bed. Riggs was standing at the door. The door opened and hit him in the back of the head. Mary tried not to laugh. Riggs turned and looked at who had hit him with the door. It was Santos.
"I'm sorry Your Majesty, but I must talk with Riggs." She said and Mary nodded her head. They walked out of the room but Riggs left the door open so that he could still see Mary.
"What are you doing? You are suppose to be outside the door." She lightly yelled at him.
"I can watch her better if I am in the room." He told her.
"You forget Riggs, she is royalty and you are just a detective and nothing else." She told him.
"Why would you say that about him?" They looked over and saw Mary standing there at the door.
"I'm sorry Your Majesty." She said and looked at him. She was about say something else when Mary spoke again.
"I quite like him being in the room. He is very nice to talk to. But I am going to change into my night clothes and when I am done I will open the door." She smiled at him.
"Yes Your Majesty." He smiled a loving smile at her. She shut the door and Riggs was still looking at the door. Santos saw this and said.
"You will stay out here for now on, and tonight as she sleeps." She told him.
"I don't work for you now, I work for Queen Mary." He said and looked over at her.
"What?"
"When I became her body guard then I started working for her and her alone." Santos didn't like this at all. The door opened and Mary was standing in her FP Collection by Free People 'Summer Love' gown.
"Your Majesty, Mr. Riggs will be sleeping outside your door tonight." She said to The Queen.
"Very well, I'm going to bed." She said, and they watched Santos walk off.
"Night, Mr. Riggs." She said.
"Your Majesty can call me Martin if you want to." He said and moved to the door and looked down at her. She smiled and said.
"Well you may call me Mary. Goodnight Martin." Riggs smiled and said.
"Goodnight Mary." She shut the door.
-The Next Day-
Mary opened the door and Riggs fell into the room. He was down setting at the bottom of the doorway, with his legs across the threshold of the door. Riggs jump when he hit the floor.
"Oh, are you alright?" She asked him.
"Yes Your Majesty." He saw and looked up at her and got up. He looked at her she was in a Jean Patou Vintage (circa 1976) Couture Evening Dress. He smiled and got up.
"Good morning." She said to him.
"Morning." He said and she watched him push back his hair. She giggled and smiled at him and he smiled at her.
