There were times when Spencer Reid resented the fact that he was a genius. Resented the fact that he could practically remember every event in his life. Every humiliating experience in high school, every derogatory comment made to him, every case he'd been on since joining the BAU.
He'd wake up in the middle of the night, slicked with sweat, panting profusely, crying for the victims he couldn't save or crying out against those who did him wrong, both teenagers and psychopaths.
However, he loved how he could remember vividly every encounter he'd had with Aaron Hotchner. He remembered their first meeting, their first conversation, their first case. He remembered the first time Aaron had kissed him, rough and warm and dominating and perfect, dangerous and protective at the same.
He could practically feel being pinned against the wall of their hotel room during a case, lips attaching themselves to his neck aggressively, though careful not to leave a mark where anyone could see.
Spencer remembered perfectly, with a blush, every time he and Aaron had sex. He could see Aaron's figure crouched over his own, rough and calloused hands caressing their way down his body, a voice growling huskily in his ear words Spencer never would have thought to hear from the Agent.
Most of all he could see every time he closed his eyes the warm, loving, tender look on Aaron's normally expressionless face the first time he told Spencer 'I Love You.'
That made all the bad memories he had to put up with worth it.
