It was awfully silent in the kitchen while Joseph stood in front of the stove, flipping pancakes on a frying pan. Even though he was humming, it still felt eerily hushed behind his soft whistling. Joseph knew there was someone else in the kitchen with him, but they weren't speaking. He groaned as he roughly set down the frying pan on one of the burners. Turning around, Joseph angrily said, "Levi, I'm beginning to suspect that you're having a bad day."

Levi was sitting in one of the chairs that were tucked into a table that matched the design of the chair; white with smooth wood. He had his head face down in his arms, but when he heard Joseph's voice, he raised his head. In a groggy voice, he replied with, "Whyzat?"

Again, Joseph groaned with anger, as if the answer Levi gave him wasn't the answer he wanted to hear. "You've been asleep for approximately twelve hours, Levi! Hell, once you woke up, it took you an hour to actually get up and two more for you to get dressed! You didn't even eat breakfast, and you know I hate it when you don't eat what I make for you! You didn't even point out the fact that I'm not wearing an apron," Joseph explained.

"Put one on then," Levi groaned.

"Levi, please just tell me whether or not you're having a bad day because emotional support is the keystone of any great friendship! I myself am the greatest at emotional support!" Joseph ranted as he walked over to Levi, standing at his left.

"Don't even worry about it," Levi groused, "I'm just tired, that's all there is to it. I swear on that, I can even prove it to you, just let me… put my head down and rest, alright?" Levi grunted quietly.

"I can't help but feel that you aren't being completely honest with me and that feeling won't go away unless you prove it so!" Joseph argued.

Levi moaned, slowly throwing his hands up in the air and leaning back against the white, wooden chair. "You're worrying about literally nothing, Joseph, so stop trying to get my attention for nothing. I just felt extremely lazy today, that's all. If you think about it, I'm just being myself, which you're preventing me from doing," Levi disputed.

One day, Joseph had told Levi that he shouldn't try acting like anyone other than himself so that he'd feel more confident in himself.

"Levi, please… tell me what's troubling you, or I'm going to hug you," Joseph threatened.

Levi despised hugs.

"C'mon, Joseph… I'm gonna go around the house and slack off like usual, see? So just st-"

Joseph interrupted Levi, stepping forward and pulling him out of the wooden chair by his waist, hugging him tightly. Joseph laughed as he said, "Too late! Levi, I want emotional honesty, and I'm not going anywhere until I receive it!"

Levi tried to push Joseph away, but was too emotionally drained and became weak in his arms. "C-come on, Joseph, I... I'm... I'm fine, you know me, I'm always okay, right? I-I don't get... I don't get... don't... get..." Levi tried to finish his sentence but his voice cracked.

His eyes watered so much at that one second that he burst into tears, wrapping his arms around Joseph's shoulders and hugging him. He buried his face into his chest, crying out in emotional pain. Joseph smiled, slowly pushing Levi away. "You see? I told you that I was great at emotional support," he said.

Levi's mouth twitched into a smile as he reached up to wipe the tears off of his face. "Y-you got me again, Joseph…," he stuttered. "You got me again…"
