Chapter One

A Cat Stuck in a Tree

May 21st

The wind was blowing a little roughly, making Arianna's dark brown curls swirl around her and blocking her view of her historical romance novel that she was reading at the Gotham City Pool. She wasn't in the pool of course, but rather sitting in one of those long white lounge chairs in her two piece tropical bikini that she got on sale from online. She looked up from her book and pouted when she saw that the once blue clear sky was now greyish-black, signaling that a thunderstorm was coming.

"Great, a storm." She swung her legs over from the chair and turned around to gather up her favorite purple flowered towel, folding it neatly before placing it inside her duffle bag that was next to her sandaled feet. She moved back around so she could put on her shorts that she was wearing earlier before she came to the pool. She grabbed her bawled up white tank top and placed it on, pulling down at the hem making sure that her stomach was covered because her dad hates any skin showing on her skin.

Arianna rolled her eyes and chuckled when her phone started to ring with her dad's face showing up on the screen. "Yes, yes I know it's about to storm, I am actually on my way home now."

She could hear him chewing in the background and she gasped in shock. "Are you eating the BBQ spaghetti without me?!"

Her dad laughed and scoffed when she heard her dad slurped up the noodles. "Yup! You better get here before I really eat it all!"

Arianna rolled her eyes as she walked over to her parked bike that was outside of the gate. "I'm coming, I'm coming." She told him, hanging up the phone and stuck it in her back pocket. She bent down to unlock her bike, looking around and then looking up when a clash of thunder came from above her and quickly got on her bike when it was finally unlocked.

It started to sprinkle a tiny bit as she riding her bike home. When she made a left turn on the bike rain, it started to rain harder and that made her peddle faster. She passed a tree that was at the Gotham City Park and thought she saw movement on a tree branch. She stopped her bike, wiping her eyes so she could see better. "Are you kidding me?"

Up on the tree branch, there was a small gray kitten there. He was moving back and forth, trying to figure out a way to get down from the tree without hurting himself. Arianna sighed, pulling her curls into a low ponytail out of the way as she walked over to the tree after parking her bike, looking up to make sure that there wasn't any thunder around. "You are lucky that my dad taught me how to climb a tree, kitty."

The kitten licked his paw in response, having given up trying to get down. Arianna sighed in frustration as she carefully started to climb the tree, watching out every move that she made so she wouldn't fall or slip. She hated that she has a weakness for cats but if she didn't try and get him down she would feel guilty and wouldn't be able to look at her own cat Clay in the eyes, knowing that she could've help the poor kitten down from the tree branch. "Kitty, kitty." She told it, reaching out with her hand, trying to get him. The kitten meowed and moved away from her and went back into licking his paw. "Serisouly?"

The kitten meowed again, licking his other paw and scratched his ear. Arianna sighed, shaking her head, getting annoyed with the kitten. "Alright, Mr. Kitten. I am coming to get you down. I don't care if you don't want to get down." She used her upper body strength to pull up onto the tree branch and the kitten moved away from her.

Arianna scoffed at the kitten and reached over when suddenly, a loud clash of thunder came from above her. She looked up to see a flash of thunder coming at her, knocking her off of the tree and sent the kitten down but he landed on his legs. Or At least, she hoped that's what happened because she was thrown off the tree and onto the ground.

She tried getting up. However, she couldn't and suddenly everything around her turned black.

Author's Note:

I am back with another story! It has been what, almost two years since I had written anything? Ha, life happens huh? Well I have been around… I just really haven't really written anything except maybe a few one shots and I attempted a Fairy Tail story but that was a downer.

I have lots of ideas for this story and I really hope that you guys will like it!
