Ever After High got me addicted, but I never was into Monster High for an odd reason. Ever After High have a prospective of what if a character doesn't want to follow a parents' footstep for the future. One story always done already, but it doesn't have the same old thing. It brings in the questions on what if a person expecting to have a happy ending if one doesn't want to involve.

Mattel, you have my interests in your new series involving Fairy Tale Drama.

Everyone jumped into conclusion, if one character thinks it is evil, but where did I heard this story before?

I don't own the characters from Ever After High.

Ever After High – The Wise Words of Good King

Raven's father Good King headed Ever After High by request from the Head Master Grimm in concerned about his daughter. Good King understood what Raven is going through from what people says and thinks that she must follow her mother's footstep. Little did, they knew she wasn't evil, but had well from her father's side.

He reminded that people send him letters about the concerned about his daughter making the wrong decision. His wife locked away within the Mirror Prison, but he doesn't want his daughter to follow her mother's path. He raised very well since they have a strong bond, but he doesn't know what was the big deal is about Raven Queen not being evil.

He wasn't fond of the same traditions, but he knew something was off about it since it had been the same for the past centuries. If his daughter doesn't follow it, then he supported his daughter no matter what. Good King was wiser and doesn't jump into conclusion like others assumed since he was a Royal except he was different, but he believed the change was better. He wasn't quite fond of Head Master Grimm tried to convince her to do evil or a Royal following their parent's footsteps to earn their Happy Ending. It wasn't fair for Rebel to not have their happy ending in his opinion, but he keeps it to himself until now.

"Oh Humpty Dumpty, do you think change is good if a child refused to follow their own parents' path?"

He looked at his old friend Humpty Dumpty as he was taking notes before he paused to look up at Good King. Humpty Dumpty didn't say a word as he chooses his words wisely. He coughed a little before he put on his glasses as he sighed.

"Sir, if a child refused to follow his or her parent's footstep when it came to Legacy Day, but there won't any story and everyone feared that they will disappear."

Good King nodded when he reminded of the fear before he met Raven Queen's mother, but he wondered if it was going to happen or not. He wondered if it was just a lie and the Milton kept the tradition alive. If those who don't follow the path will disappear, but some changed their destiny when they refused to follow in secret. They won't disappear or proof, but Legacy Day was something that the Royals valued in traditional.

"Why Grimm always gives me a concerned about my daughter's future on not following her mother's footsteps?"

"She wasn't a good mother, sir… People judged her because they believed that she is evil making her an outcast."

"Outcast indeed, old friend," Good King said as he was reminded when Raven Queen was a little girl when he had a flashback before his eyes.

Flashback

He walked up when he heard her crying near a lake. He reminded everyone comparing Apple White to Raven Queen as they praised Apple, but shunned Raven. This eats him up from inside when he attended different parties or special events, but he regretted not standing up for his daughter. His wife and Snow White had a disagreement between each other, but the story has caused Raven Queen and her old friends to keep distance from one another. He tapped her on the shoulder before she looked up at her father.

"Am I going to be the Evil Queen like my mother?"

Raven Queen began to ask him the question when the tears streaming down her face. Good King grumbled under his breath when people are hypocrites for what they say. He was getting tired of everyone keep a distance of her thinking she was evil. The schools haven't accepted her because they believed that she was evil and the villagers kept their distance with their children. She was homeschooled by the Humpty Dumpty and a few teachers who didn't believe in such nonsense that Raven was evil..

"The same old story, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," he thought, "Everyone expecting you to follow in your mother's footstep because you supposed to be a villain in the story. While Apple White... Well..."

Good King decided to choose his own words wisely as he sat next to her and pulled her closer to her. The story made his wife insane, but it couldn't be true and she hasn't seen her mother for a while except when it came her birthday.

Good King said to his daughter in calm mannered, but he was going to have a word with Apple White's parents, "What makes you say that, my princess?"

It feels uncomfortable, but it was heartbreaking to say that this makes the child think negatively from what they believed.

"Apple White, she told me that I cannot hang out with her and that I supposed to be evil in her own story," Raven Queen cried.

Good King was hurt inside when his own daughter is being judged by the foolishness of people. There was nothing wrong with his daughter, but if anyone badmouthed his own daughter behind his back. Then they will answer to him since the stories based on what their parents gone through.

"Parents and people misjudged, but assumed that they are like the parent except it isn't always true," he said calmly, "But..."

They keep it in the same old way without any changes or anything different. He saw the Royals are lacking of something as they loved to follow their parents' tradition because they are good and charming except they are lacking something. They needed to learn that sometimes their pride will get the better of them, but the Royals cannot be perfect endings. The Legacy Day caused Duchess' parents committed suicide and it wasn't fair that their daughter forced to suffer a terrible fate. It's ironic when the grandmother raised Duchess to become the next Swan Princess, but he tried to give advices to the grandmother.

"Nobody deserved a terrible fate like you or anyone else," he continued, but he thought since Raven isn't the only one, "Including Swan's only daughter if the grandmother took my advice and allowed her to follow in her path..."

The grandmother was stubborn enough to not listen to Good King as she says that the tradition had to continue. He wasn't fond to the Thorn since his wife stole Mrs. Thorn's role, but they held a grudge against Raven for no reason.

"This grandmother was very stubborn when she wanted to keep the tradition alive, but isn't aware of the consequences of the child's fate."

He forced to put his foot down when they went far to insult her. He forced them to keep their distance or their wings will be cut off. This was the first time that he threatened an evil faerie unlike the Beauty Family, but he was a Good King. He wasn't supposed to do something like this, but hated it when Mrs. Thorn willing to make her daughter followed a path. She advised him to keep his daughter away from their story, but called her a hypocrite under his breath.

"Some are willing to follow the traditions, but assumed that the children will do the same. Sometimes they didn't get a chance to achieve their goal except they didn't know that it was a good thing too. Sadly, some people are very stubborn when they held a grudge for no reason."

He encountered Daring Charming, but his downside was his pride about the looks will get the best of him. He gets annoyed when King and Queen Charming wanted an arranged marriage between Dexter and Rosabella to stay clear from Raven Queen. He hates their guts very well, but they wanted to keep the tradition alive in their family, but questioned if the Charming Siblings related to Apple White.

"Not to mention, there's a consequence for having such a sin if someone related to a Royal Family. It's not fair that my daughter shunned away from others while everyone paid attention to someone who is very prideful and selfish. They assumed everyone should follow their roles except there will be a downside to it. They haven't questioned about the outcomes of "if" there was a mistake or a twist."

Sadly, he couldn't say much anything because he doesn't want to insult his old friend King Charming, but he felt something needed to be done. He questioned if Apple White followed her mother's footstep, what if Daring wasn't her Prince Charming in other words? What if... He couldn't think about his daughter becoming a villain since he prepared everything for his daughter if he passed away. Sadly, he wasn't able to bring his daughter along since she will ruin the environment, but it wasn't right when his friends decided their children's destinies for them leaving a few without any.

He wished that King Charming didn't spoil Daring rotten with his mirrors and if they visited him. Sure, he's very heroic and brave except Daring is very prideful, but he referred Dexter over Daring since he was more humble and unsure than his brother. He including Darling Charming due to the fact that she had a different personality unlike the others, but it includes her cousin too. He has forgotten her name when he invited the family into his castle except One incident was Daring taken a bit too long within the restroom and Good King had limited his time to 3-minutes when it comes to dinner parties.

"Am I a horrible father to hide her from others just because she's related to the Evil Queen? Or..."

"Daddy, what did you mean?"

"Raven, what I'm saying is?" he hesitated.

"..."

"Nobody has the right to judge you or anyone just because they assumed that you are the same," he said, "like your mother... You are different in your own right, but you aren't the Evil Queen's daughter except you are my daughter... That will make you the Daughter of Good King too..."

The next generations are happier, but some are a bit miserable from what they were force grow up as. His daughter and a few others are referred as "Rebel" meaning the least favorite while Royal means popularity in different terms. His own daughter is going to be hated for what she was forced to become what her mother is and their stress, but peer pressure. The traditions could cause someone to be an outcast to become a villain, hero, or not. Some will end up dead like Tiny's father thanks to Jack stealing things that doesn't belong to him.

"But," Raven said nervously.

"My child doesn't listen to what people or Apple says, but they could be wrong if they continued to act stubborn," he said to Raven, "It will be too late when they realized their error when they don't know what's going to happen in the future..."

He encountered the next generations of Rebels and some are honest like Cedar Wood because she tells the truth. She wasn't going to lie to anyone while her father forced to lie because it was his story, but not her story. He didn't judge when he encountered Cerise Hood is the daughter of the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Hood, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't help when he smiled at the change in his opinion that there was a change. He provided funds to help Big Bad Wolf and his wife to start their business, but hoped that Cerise gets along with his daughter.

"You aren't the only one," he said to her, "There will be others who will stand up against the tradition due to the fact that they wanted to decide their own destinies for the good or bad. Raven, you needed to know that you can't allow people to decide for you... You cannot your mother decide your destiny either, but it's you who decided what path you should take... Good or bad, you are shunned by others... At least, you are able to make the right one at the end..."

There will be possibly a different change from his prospective since there had to be a reason to, but now. He needed to make his own daughter to smile and think positive, but he isn't going to follow on discouraging his daughter to good. He wasn't going to force his own daughter to become evil like his own mother, but it may be that she will have a happy ever after if Apple White doesn't get one or not.

He paused to see Raven Queen confused.

"Dear Princess, you don't let anyone put you down just because you are a Child of Evil Queen," Good King said to her, "What they say was wrong, but you have good within you from my side of the family. If you don't want people to force you do something evil just because your mother was. You are yourself and you decided your own path. If you don't exist within the story, but you have your own."

Raven smiled for what her father says when she hugged her own father. She was happy when her father wasn't going to force her to become evil. He was Good King after all since his heart was more pure than any Royal combined, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't follow the way that people wanted him to do. He was Good King after all, but what he says. They followed his orders if Milton doesn't like it.

"Thank you Daddy!" said Raven Queen smiled.

Good King smiled in delight when he hugged his own daughter, but he looked from the distance. He looked back to see the Mad Hatter's daughter Madeline that was soon to be Raven Queen's best friends until now. He and his daughter encountered Madeline when she offered a cup of tea to Raven Queen.

Flashback Ended...

The flashback ended when the horns blew as they arrived in the Village of the Book End before they headed straight to Ever After High.

He looked through the window to see, but he envied the next generations. There were opportunities that he never got from back in the day, but he saw new generations enjoying their lives. Legacy Day was coming soon, but he was going to be there for his daughter. None knew that Raven Queen relates to Good King except for a few who knew about it.

"I remembered my first day of school," said Humpty Dumpty saddened, "I never have a chance to change my destiny, but I am glad that the next generations have a chance. Since the fear of disappearing with a "poof" if they don't follow the legacy, but I believed Raven Queen was the bravest of them all."

"I believed so too," said Good King.

It took 45-minutes to get to Ever After High due to the traffic of overexcited citizens to encounter Good King. He frowned when they assumed to fix this current problem, but decided against from their intention since he supported daughter. He believed that he was overshadowing his own daughter due to his Royal Status, but he encountered Milton in front of the school. Humpty Dumpty opened the door for Good King and the words spread like wildfire about his arrival.

"Head Master Grimm," he said coldly, "What is the meaning of calling here about my daughter?"

Everyone murmured what did Good King meant from what he says just now before the knights prevent the crowd from going near Good King.

"Sir, I never expected that you showed up here, but I needed your help," said Master Grimm as he bowed.

He escorted them into the school, but Good King felt disgusted as the traditions remained the same inside of the school. He's surprised that things changed around the area before they headed into the Main Office, but didn't allow his guard down. He wouldn't stand anyone try anything funny to his own daughter or forcing her to become evil. He had his own rules when he made sure that the Head Master followed and that he hoped. He chuckled when his daughter turned the Headmaster into the chicken after being called into a counselor's office because the Headmaster disapproved of her attitude.

"Is this to attempt my daughter into following her footstep?" he asked, "or was it an harassment?"

Milton got chills down his spine when Good King gave him the glare. He was informed by his own daughter that Milton tries to make her to become evil instead of following her own path. Humpty Dumpty got that feeling when he could tell Good King doesn't like Grimm when the door was closed behind them. He referred the younger brother over him since he favored the Royals over the Rebels, but he doesn't agree to it.

"Yes, you know what it is about that is good to hear," said Milton angered, "Your daughter had a disturbing idea that will ruin the tradition and the stories forever."

"You referred Apple White over her and I believed my daughter has the right to change her destiny," said Good King to the Milton hostilely, but smirked when he saw Milton's reaction in surprise except disgusted.

"She was born evil and supposed to be evil, but not good, my King…"

Good King, Humpty Dumpty, and Milton sat down as they continued to discuss. Humpty Dumpty kept Good King calmed down because he didn't know when will Good King ticked. Good King remained calm, but angered for what the Headmaster was saying to him. The Headmaster blamed it on Good King for raising his own daughter to be evil like her mother to have Apple White get her happily ever after. This tradition ruined Raven Queen and Apple White's friendship from the past, and there was a lot to learn from the next generations. There was already more happily ever after, but what his daughter's future being stuck in a prison likes her own mother. It wasn't fair for his daughter and the rebels to suffer in his opinion.

"Not good, are you going to criticize on how I raised my daughter?" Good King questioned.

"Sir, calmed down," said Humpty Dumpty to Good King except Milton ended up choosing his words.

"I am calm, Humpty," Good King replied.

"I will like to advise you to keep yourself calm and listened to what I had to say," Milton said, "From what your daughter did on Legacy Day, it's unforgivable when she tore her page and it caused a corrupted side to be created. She caused nothing more than shame when she created a group who goes against the tradition if this keeps up. She will destroy everything this school stands for and the only way to prevent this from happening. You needed to confront her for what she did wrong, please sir... I tried everything to convince her to follow her mother's path, but she refused to do so..."

He doesn't want anyone to know that Raven Queen was related to Good King, but this will cause panic in the Royals and the school for what she did. He wanted to keep the traditions to make sure that the next generation followed their parents' footstep likes the stories. He never encountered the King's Wrath before, but he takes a deep breath.

"I'm sorry to say, but I couldn't tolerate my daughter to follow her mother's path," Good King said calmly.

Milton surprised on how Good King acted like nothing wrong with his daughter making her own choice. He refused to back down until he convinced Good King to do the "right" thing.

"It's her destiny to complete Apple's story to..."

"I'm sorry to say this, but my King's words stand since he refused to allow her to follow in her mother's path," Humpty Dumpty replied, "I don't think it's fair for her to suffer a terrible fate while Apple gets the good ending... It's like saying that I wanted my son to keep the tradition, but I didn't want him to suffer from what I had to go through..."

Milton ignored Humpty Dumpty as he focused on Good King face to face.

"Well," Milton hesitated, "you don't..."

Good King replied, "The answer is no, but I am glad that my own daughter feels indifferent about doing the traditions. You are trying to change my daughter's future for the worse. You wanted her to be just like her mother within a prison while the others moved on with their lives happily ever after."

"Well, this is the way that they have to follow the tradition what their parents did in the past."

Good King snapped in rage, "This is the past anymore, but this is NOW!"

Milton flinched in fear when he looked at Good King's expression as he got out of his chair and backed away.

Good King yelled, "You expected some students to follow their parents' footsteps, but what if some don't. My daughter doesn't want to follow in her mother's footsteps, and understood!"

"Well, it is your fault for not raising her in the wrong way to allow the story to flow with Apple White's story," said Milton.

"Excuse me?" Good King asked as he questioned Milton if this was an insult.

"I'm saying it straight, but the tradition needed to be kept to keep the story from flowing. You don't want your daughter to disappear…"

"Disappear?" Humpty added as he chuckled, "Who's a liar when his daughter didn't disappear after she ripped her page from the Legacy Day?"

"Yes, indeed!" Good King said darkened, "Just a lie carried the consequence to make everyone believe to make sure that they followed the tradition. Some tradition doesn't seem to matter anymore if they are able to decide on what they wanted to do…"

Headmaster Grimm hesitated, "Sir, you needed to calm down, you are getting out of character."

"Out of character, I don't care about anything except if it's concerning my daughter and forcing the tradition down her throat. Wouldn't she happy when her inheritance taken away from someone claimed the Kingdom? There are different versions from each generation, but there had to be change somehow or the other…"

"Change, are you mad?" Milton asked.

Humpty Dumpty and Good King didn't change their expression at Milton, but…

"Are you expecting me to hate my daughter?" Good King asked to Milton, "Like her mother…"

"No, it's not like that?" Milton said nervously.

"You are, sir!" Humpty Dumpty said, "You know the Evil Queen thinks that she's doing right to prepare her daughter for her future, but her father showed her for what any father would…"

"Agreed," Good King added.

"You…"

"You expect me to do "evil" things to force my daughter into becoming like her mother," said Good King angered, "The answer is no, and don't."

Good King gives the Milton the glare when it was the mistake that he made, but Humpty Dumpty keeps him calm. Good King will not do anything since he lived up to his title, and he could have sent Milton into the dungeon for that remark. He calmed down as he sat back down with Humpty Dumpty when he drinks his tea as the conversation continued on. Milton tried ways to get Raven Queen to become a future Evil Queen, but he used the threat that they don't exist. Good King was much aware of the term except it was getting old, but someone needed to change the new story unfolding.

"I warned you once before to never insult my daughter if she followed in her own path instead of her mother's path," said Good King giving Milton the look, "She may be the child of Evil Queen, but she is my daughter too."

Milton flinched when Good King was taking his daughter's side when it was a frightening to see Good King giving him the glare. Things don't come his way when he expects the children to follow their parents' footsteps, but some have a disagreement. Humpty Dumpty drinks his tea in peace when he took notes when Good King was finished drinking his tea before he got up from the chair.

It wasn't going as planned when he was going to ask Baba Yoga to the bewitched Raven Queen by force. The staff members had a disagreement when it comes to brainwashing students to follow their own parents' path, but there were rules made by the King. Milton had to think twice when it came to the rules since it isn't his school and Good King could replace him with someone else. Good King has the power to ban him from the school or not, and Milton was afraid of him.

"The saying goes "Change is good", Milton remembered that."

Milton was shaking when he doesn't like the changes at all, but they should keep it with the traditions with their parents. He watches Good King leaves the room with Humpty Dumpty right behind him, but he looked down at his tea. He feared that change was for better or worse, but he cannot allow it.

He used Apple White to convince Raven Queen should follow in her footsteps, but he cannot disrespect the King's wishes. The rules were in place for a good reason, but Milton finds it prejudice for them to not follow the footsteps.

Raven Queen was different than the others, but it was going to be hard to convince her to be evil. Nothing can happen twice with the fairy tales, but it was once. He wanted to make sure that they do, but the world will not end if Raven Queen refused to be the Evil Queen. Who was going to over as the villain's role in Apple's story? This was a question except she could tell that Apple White was trying her best to convince, but the only way to make sure if it was forced her.

"Why are Raven Queen and Good King be so foolish, but things have to be the same…"

Milton grumbled under his breath if one refused to follow her destiny as everything will change for the better or worst.

The End… It was just the beginning…

Note: I ended up editing the story since I liked the first version, but I could add more to it. I didn't expect this one-shot is going strong until this day, but I had no plan to delete it anytime soon. Sadly, I don't seem to care if I have a problem with my grammar or what, but I willing to fix the problem if anyone pointed out. Sadly, I'm not fond of insults very easily when they asked if I'm from another country or English is my first language. Geez, it's still getting on my nerve until this day except I could accept criticism and admit that I'm not perfect.

If anyone who insults or swear that I got a problem. Sadly, I got news for someone who I will not name and if you don't like the story and go on a rant without any explanation. Then my advice goes to you, don't read if you don't like the story or have a problem with it minus those pointed out the grammar problems. I'm not the best one, but this comment... Augh! I don't want to even think about it.
