A/N: This is my first fanfic, I've ever written. I know a lot of people ship Cappie and Casey, but I've always loved Evan and Casey together.
And since there weren't many fanfics out there about this them, I thought I'd give it a try. Please let me know what you think.
Also, I want to give a special thanks to the beta of this one shot, Brucasfan23.

Disclaimer: I do not own Greek.

Fake Happiness

Evan watched as Cappie and Casey ended their kiss. It hurt to see them kissing, knowing fully well, that the ex-couple before him, still had feelings for each other. Even though Evan had been the one to break it off between Casey and himself, he still loved her. He took a step backwards and spun around to walk away. He had found his way to the kissing booth, because he had wanted to support Casey and the ZBZ's. He hadn't expected to find Cappie and Casey kissing. He felt absolutely stupid and crushed.

Ever since Evan had cheated on Casey with Rebecca, he had forgotten how it felt to be happy. After that incident, everything went down hill. Casey had slept with Cappie to make things between them even, but the fact that she had chosen Cappie, made Evan jealous more than words could describe.

When it came to Casey and Cappie, Evan felt not only jealous, but also very insecure. Cappie was Casey's first love, and who was he to compete with that?

As Evan reached for his car keys in his pocket, he felt a small hand on his shoulder. He spun around to stand face to face with Casey. For a minute they stood still in an awkward silence just staring at each other.

"Evan," she said quietly

"Casey," he greeted.

Once again they stood in silence.

Casey reached out a hand and tried to touch his cheek, but he turned his head the other way.

"I can't, Casey. I can't and won't be your second priority any longer, not when you're my first," he spoke up.

His voice was not so confident and clear, as it usually was. His eyes wandered everywhere; he just couldn't look at her; he was afraid that he would break if he did.

"I loved you. I still do love you and I had hoped with everything in me that once we were together that your feelings for Cappie would fade away, and you could love me back. But I guess that didn't go the way I had planned, huh?" he let out a small laugh, but there were no signs of happiness in his eyes.

He kissed her gently on the forehead and took one last look at her. He straightened his shirt, he looked like a million bucks on the outside, but he felt like a mess inside.

Then he walked away.

The car would stay in the parking lot tonight. He wanted to feel happy once again, and the only way he could be happy tonight, was with a little help from the contents of the silver flask in his hand.
