A/N: I'm not sure if anyone else does, but I like Sophia so I thought I'd do a "Snapshots" for Robbie & Sophia. Hope you enjoy them :)

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Precious

It had been a particularly tough case: a child murdered by her own family. Robbie had always found the cases involving children to be the worst but since Sophia's birth he'd been finding them even worse.

"How do you do it Mike?" he asked as they both walked prepared to leave the station.

"Do what?"

"This – deal with murders all day and then go home to your family? Doesn't it bother you?"

Michael gave him a half smile, "Yes, it does bother me. The more I see on the job the more I worry about my children, but I don't think I could ever stop doing what I do."

"Why?"

"Because even though I see the darker side of humanity, I also help to get some it off the streets. It's the best way that I can see to protect my children, to keep them safe," Michael replied.

Robbie nodded, "I guess that makes sense," he replied, not sounding convinced.

Michael clapped him on the shoulder, "Go home, Robbie, see your daughter: you'll know what I mean."

At first Robbie had thought Michael was crazy, but after he had gotten home and the babysitter had left he went into where Sophia was sleeping.

As he watched her he thought that perhaps Michael was right, catching murderers in some way helped to make the world his little girl lived in just that little bit safer.

He bent down and placed a soft kiss on Sophia's cheek, one day he'd thank her for giving his life some meaning, but for now he'd just be grateful to have her in his life.
