"Hi Jake," Marco said to me as I walked inside his house."We gonna throw the sickest party or what?" He asked. I better explain. All month, Marco had been secretly buying food and CD's for a party he was going to throw, all because his dad was out of town for one night. I never thought he'd pull through with it.

" Marco, we shouldn't do this. If we get in trouble, like, MAJOR trouble...we could get grounded," I said. Marco gave me an annoyed look and rolled his eyes.

" Jake," he began. "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. This is an oppurtunity of a lifetime. Everyone at school is gonna come. Including Cassie," He said.

" Marco, it's gonna be hard to fight yeerks while we're grounded." I pointed out.

" We deserve a break, anyway. Besides, we're not gonna get grounded." He said. We sat ourselves on the couch and turned on the TV.

" What's on the news?" I asked. He flipped the channel. Nothing interesting was happening. A second before we were about to play some video games, something caught our attention.

" The Sharing is having Open House tonight, where everyone is encouraged to become a member.." said the news anchor. Marco and I looked at each other.

The lady continued."It will be held at the public pool from 7:00 PM to midnight. There will be a DJ, night swim, and barbecue. Everyone is encouraged to come."

Marco gave me a sad look. "Jake, please don't make me miss my own party..." He begged.

I shook my head. "We gotta check this out. They never had Open House before. Besides, the public pool might have an entrance to a YEERK pool."

Marco picked up the cordless phone and sighed. Satisfied, I told him that I'd tell the others about the plan.

I thought it was going to be normal. I was wrong.
