So, if you're one of the unfortunate few who are subscribed to me, you would have noticed a little obsession I'm developing - Axel/Larxene. I've had the temptation to write yet ANOTHER fic about it, ..
And I gave in.
I don't own Kingdom Hearts.
NOTE; Axel makes a reference to Larxene dying because of water - in the manga, SHE DOES. She uses her lightning magic in a puddle of water xD
Flames licked at bone white curtains, slowly staining them brown and then black before devouring them entirely.
Castle Oblivion's main room was becoming consumed by fire, the blank walls scorched and blackened.
The only thing that seemed immune to the inferno was the arsonist himself, whose hair radiated the same devilish heat that his eyes did.
She stood there once, the firestarter thought before he set the floor alight once again.
Only the Flurry of Dancing Flames could make the impenetrable structure of the castle burn so fiercely. The blaze needed no food, it was already gorged on rage and hatred.
Axel's eyes dimmed and glazed over. They had begun to water in the heat of the air. All the doors were sealed shut, and the windows that were framed by burnt and shredded curtains were built into the walls. Even Higher Nobodies like himself had their limits, and Axel was reaching his.
With another roar from the redhead, Axel's hands were surrounded with fire. He spun and threw fireballs uselessly at the blaze.
"Kill me already!" He called to no-one. His coat was intact, but his gloves were falling apart with burns visible on his thin hands. His face was slick with sweat and red.
Axel slumped to the floor and breathed heavily. Larxene had passed. Disintegrated just as that idiot Zexion had. Marluxia, Vexen and Lexaeus too, but Axel never really cared for them. No.. he never really cared for anyone.. he couldn't, of course. Perhaps lust was driving him mad. Lust for Larxene..
He wondered what had become of her. Had she gone to Hell.. ?
Axel dismissed that thought with a weak chuckle. If she was in Hell she'd be here with him.
The fire around him burned on as his own began to flicker. He just wanted to stop.. not feeling. Kingdom Hearts had no meaning if he couldn't use it to feel for her..
He could almost see her, too. Dancing in the flames and extinguishing them, blonde hair swaying. A mere hallucination..
"Please.." Voice dry and hoarse, Axel felt his head hit the floor. Pain. Larxene.. beckoning. But he couldn't see her now.
Wet. Cold. Death wasn't meant to be wet. Or was it? If death involved a lot of water maybe Axel wouldn't like death so much. Larxene never liked water.. it was her demise, too..
Something nudged at his fingers. A foot, maybe.
No.. was she.. here?..
Axel's eyes were wet, from the humidity or from his relief he wasn't sure. But the air had cooled - that's right, everything was wet now.
Sorry, Larx, he thought as he began to fade.
"Oh, no you don't! You're too useful for that."
Demyx.
(Also, a note to my subscribers about After The Rain - expect a chapter within the next day or two, my friend lent me FFXII and I have to finish it before the weekend's over.)
