"So this is it huh?" Chloe said as she fixed Clark's tie.
"Yeah," Clark smiled a little "I'm glad you're here Chloe. It means alot to me."
"Just returning the favour" Chloe said. "I mean, you did give me away at my wedding."
"Correction. You mean alot to me." Clark replied. "And you look beautiful"
Chloe blushed and looked down at her red cocktail dress "Thank you Mr. Kent."
Clark notices a wave of sadness pass
"Jimmy did love you, you know."
"Sometimes the ones we love aren't the ones who love us Clark. And sometimes we wished that who we want would see right through us. But then someone else gives us the strength to move on"
...
The dancing continues. Lois's laugh is musical as Clark gives her a spin on the dance floor. Clark's best woman/Lois's matron of honour/go to girl Chloe leaves the crowd of happy faces to take a walk down the main street of Smallville wearing red coat over her dress and black boots/
She stops and leans against a lamppost where a male figure dressed casually in jeans, t shirt and hoodie leans on the other side.
"Hey" Chloe said awkwardly without looking at him.
"Hey" he replied back shyly.
"I haven't seen you around much, since.."
"yeah, I've been ... busy.. work, patients."
"The ummm night shifts must be pretty tough"
"Well the zombies haven't eaten my brain yet."
Chloe laughs a little and slides down to sit on the pavement. She has her feet out and legs crossed at her ankles. The guy sits next to her, leaning his knees against hers.
"I miss you, you know Davis."
"I miss you too Chloe"
"You can come back to Smallville" Chloe turns to face him. "I mean, everyone knows you didn't kill Jimmy and that what doomsday did wasn't your fault."
Davis sighed and wrapped a curl of blonde hair around his finger. "But memories stay with people. By the way, you look beautiful."
"You're the second person who told me that tonight"
"The first was Clark right?"
"Yeah."
"But then again, I tell you that every day." Davis nudged her a little
Chloe turned and smiled at Davis. She leant her head against his chest looking at the stars. It was her best friend and best cousin's wedding night and this was the time the galaxy was almost ablaze.
"You wished you were the one" Davis said, not moving away from her. "instead of your cousin, right?"
"Lois makes him happy and I've never seen her happier."
"But you were the one who knew Clark inside out."
"But things change Davis. Even with his X ray vision he couldn't see me. It was either Lana or Alicia for a short time and now it's Lois. But we were always at different points in our lives. Besides there is always someone that comes along that helps us to move on."
Davis was silent for a while. "Maybe the guy who helped you moved on thinks that you actually helped him to begin"
Chloe smiled and leaned closer pulling Davis's right arm over her.
"Then I'm glad he's here with me right now"
