This story is in honor of the Titanic's 100th Anniversary, which was yesterday. This is where Annabeth is Rose and Percy was Jack. I didn't update yesterday in honor of this memory. This AU is set in 1917; five years after the Titanic sank.
Annabeth pulled the necklace out from under the collar of her dress. Every time she looked at it, she couldn't help but think of Percy.
Percy. Annabeth felt a tear come down from her eye, and she wiped it away. She couldn't believe that the Titanic sank just 5 years ago, on this day. She couldn't believe that her one true love, Percy, had died in the cold, freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912.
She remembered the three days they had spent together. (A/N: If I got that wrong, then how many days did they know each other for?) He had shown her something spectacular.
She had never known that love could be so strong, but it was. Love had gripped her, and she wanted that feeling back, but she knew that she couldn't have it back. Not with Percy.
Annabeth put down the rag she was using to dry off the dishes and sat at the table on the closet chair. She held a handkerchief to her face and cried softly. She remembered the feel of his lips on hers, and she missed the touch of his hand on her back or caressing her face. She even remembered the feeling she had when they were in the cargo area of the ship, in the automobile. She remembered everything. And she wanted it all back.
"Mommy!" A little boy with black hair and sea-green eyes came running in from the parlor. "Can I have a cookie?" Annabeth nodded, and he looked at her with puppy dog eyes. "What's wrong, mommy?" He looked at her with sadness, and she just smiled.
"It's nothing, Percy." Annabeth said. "Don't worry about it." Percy nodded and ran off into the parlor again with his cookie in hand. Annabeth smiled at Percy, and dabbed her eyes again. Percy-the first Percy-was her son's father, and he was dead. Percy Jr. would never know his real father.
Annabeth wiped her eyes and stood up, smoothing her skirt with her hands. She sniffled, and went back to work on the dishes.
Annabeth would never forget Percy-no matter what happened. She couldn't wait until the day where they could be together again.
Annabeth looked out the window, and the sun broke through the barrier of grey clouds. She would never forget Percy, for she would forever be his Annabeth Chase Jackson.
