Shino has very defined opinions about what makes a person a monster.

A monster is someone who takes from the earth and doesn't give back. They leech the soil dry and trample it after it has become dust.

A monster is someone who likes killing too much. That person runs a risk to everyone around them, sinking kunai into backs they shouldn't be, slaughtering comrades.

A monster is completely unapologetic about killing a comrade. To them, the body is just a body, no matter what face it wears.

A true monster tries to hide his monstrosity. Whether behind a mask, a cloak, sunglasses or a simple veneer, a monster will put up a façade of normalcy that is often frighteningly convincing.

A monster is the devourer of worlds, eating up everything in sight.

Shino sees monsters everywhere, in every bright house and every gloomy slum. The world is infested with monsters.

He hates them. He truly hates them for their selfishness and their lust for things they should never be allowed to have. He hates them for leaving the earth devoid of life.

Unfortunately, when Shino looks in the mirror, he begins to wonder if he isn't a monster himself.
