Something sprouted during my English exam and this is the result. I'm not even sure if anyone'll find this half-poem, half-essay thing interesting, since it isn't even logical to begin with (aka I didn't check the meaning of the roses and made things up myself, which are not that far from the truth, but not correct either, cos I'm a lost cause, and I refuse to believe that no colouration of roses means 'rejection'). Just spoil me for a bit, okay? ^^ Also, this was supposed to be a one-sided affair from Japan's side, but I feel like I've turned it into a two-sided one towards the end, I'm not sure if anyone can point that out. It doesn't really matter anyway. Just enjoy, and I love reviews.

I will send you a red rose

on our anniversary

Just like years ago,

when I came to your doorsteps

with a bunch of scarlet roses

as red as the sun on your flag

and the flushed look on your face,

as you turned away, your hair swayed in the cool afternoon breeze

A careless thorn touched your porcelain skin

Drops of crimson,

like budding flowers that sprouted from the earth

could not impure your virginity

You are like a red rose, waiting to be discovered.

I've found you.

I will send you a white rose

as white as your untainted soul

I will dethorn the stem

and cut the leaves

And I will send you the only rose

standing upright and proud

Like the noble you,

never bend under others' hands

You are pure like the white rose you are

that one that blooms at dawn

When morning dew glitters on the leaves

Fresh

and innocent

You everlast.

I will send you a pink rose

shy like your slightly curved lips

I will pin it on your chest

I will sprinkle the petals on your hair

Your cheek are pink

when you giggle

And you look just like a rose

when you say: "Thank you"

A shy rose

secretive and beautiful

just like you.

I will send you a yellow rose

the golden colour of the sun

so bright it flashes on and off in my eyes

Like the flower after which you are named

I will give you a yellow rose

as the sun goes down the mountains

Your face shines when you hold the flower in your hands

your smile radiates, challenging sunlight

as your tears fall

Because I know that you know

we are just not meant to be.

Thanks for the red roses that started it all

Thanks for the white rose that I know I'll never deserve

Thanks for the pink rose that gave me hope

Thanks for the yellow rose that crushed my dreams

and carried it away

Flowers all have withered

but they remain,full- bloomed, in my chest

I am forever drowned in your kindness

So I will start it all over again

I will send you a blue rose

I will selfishly plant a blue rose in your eyes

And may it never fades away.

You sent me a blue rose

blue as the never-ending love

that you had planted in you

in me

As them roses grow under my dark grey sky

They are always as blue as yours.

I will show you the blue roses budding gloriously in the garden

among the reds, whites, pinks and yellows

You pluck each of them

Five roses in your hand

like a kaleidoscope

when you kiss the flowers

behind my back

kisses that are too soft

like a wind caressing silky petals.

And you will show me the roses planted in you

blue

like the love you have for me

like eternal waves crashing to the shore

like the summer sky glowing in our eyes.

I will reach for a red rose

and give it to you

Let's restart this, shall we?
