"What's it like right now?" I question the male curled up at my side.
He laughs softly, a low and musical sound that hums in my ears. He rolls over before stroking my hair and replying, "I'm just as blind as you are, Robin."
I swat at his warm hand lightly. "Could've just told me it's nighttime, jerk."
Laughing again, he begins to quietly hum a song under his breath, barely audible behind the background noise of crickets filtering in from the open window to my right.
I've always loved sitting and curling up against him while the blanket formed a nest around us. Roy's arm gently rests around my shoulders, pulling me to his side in a one-armed embrace. With a peaceful yawn, I press against him and inhale, the familiar smell comforting me.
With the barest hint of a question playing in his voice, he breaks the silence. "Robin..."
I turn to what I feel is his direction and smile. "Ask away."
"Would you...would you like to stay together? Forever?"
Flinching in surprise, I suddenly feel the embarrassment radiating off of him. Slowly, the heat rises to my own cheeks. "I, uh...You, you're not bothered?"
"By what?"
"You know...having to take care of a blind person isn't easy..." I mumble awkwardly.
With an exasperated huff, the taller male kisses the top of my head and says, "I don't care! I love you, dammit!"
I reach out and touch his face gently, his skin burning under my fingertips. Taking my hand, he presses it to his heart. "Will you?"
I smile again and whisper, "Of course."
So I was talking to my friends and they mentioned the phrase, "love is blind." I took it a bit too literally ^^
Also, this is a new ship! I think I'll call it SnowFireShipping.
