Edd walked past the pet shop for the 5th time that day. The tingling feeling in his stomach only said what was too obvious. He looked to the grey sky and his shame wash over him. It could be worse, he thought to himself.
- Two Days Ago -
"Hey Double D!" An orange blur zipped past Edd's head, narrowly missing him. The air that blew into his face made his eyes water.
"You weren't supposed to move, Sockhead," said Eddy.
"Would you please refrain from using such childish nicknames while we're in the presence of others, thank you very much," replied Edd while peering nervously around the gym. Oh why did I sign up for this class, thought Edd.
"Lighten up Double D, I was j-," Eddy began. Suddenly large mass of green fell onto Eddy from behind him, knocking him to the floor.
"What th-," he tried to say until his body hit the floor with the green mass on top, knocking the wind out of him.
"Ed! What in the name of all that is sacred what are you doing here?! Oh no, don't tell me! Please don't tell me that you're skipping class!" Edd exclaimed.
"Uh no Double D I was just coming to see my two best friends!" said Ed, not quite understanding why he was not receiving the reception he was expecting from his friends.
"If you keep ditching class like this you'll surely get expelled! Hurry, we must get you back into your designated classroom." said Edd, completely forgetting that he was called by his most embarrassing nickname in front of a crowd of onlookers.
"I'll send you back to hell!" came a scream from underneath Ed. Eddy had tried to wiggle his way out but to no avail. Pushing up was hopeless as Ed far outweighed him. Not wanting to make a scene, Eddy subtly resigned his efforts and resorted to using threats.
"But Eddy, I might get expelled if you send me someplace. The principle transferred me here to help me get, uh, easy redits." answered Ed.
"Credits, Ed." sighed Edd, clearly relieved that his friend was safe from the dangers of expulsion.
It was a typical day in a junior class of Peach Creek High. Double D, now known simply as Edd, has grown in height to a solid 5'11. He was wearing a red and black striped T-Shirt with mismatched blue shorts sagging over his knees, akin to the type he wore in middle school.
Ed has had an immense growth spurt since middle school. He now towers at 6'4 with no signs of slowed growth. He became a lean, skinny but sinewy person though his relatively ripped figure is almost always covered by a green, zipped up jacked and baggy sweatpants.
Eddy has finally experienced a growth spurt as well, though he is still the he shortest member of the trio. Standing at a generous 5'6, he has mostly come to terms with his height. As a result of former attempts to hide is slightly stout frame, he now dresses in exclusively dark colors. Today he is wearing a black T-shirt with dark jeans and his signature chain dangling from his pocket.
The three of them have no idea of the coming trauma and drama that was going to change the very fibers of their being.
