a/n: Challenged in the Game of Life to write a fic with "Sirius teaching Harry how to drive!" Enjoy!
Sirius gazed at the steering wheel in front of him and sighed. He remembered a day when Lily taught him about Muggle cars and transportation and how important it was for Harry to learn to drive so he could handle both muggle and wizard life and could choose how to live. If he chose to be like wizards who preferred to keep away from the muggle life, he might move to the countryside. If he was like most half bloods, he'd probably find a place in the city. Sirius sighed. He wanted Harry to be comfortable no matter what life he chose. Sirius honked and looked towards the Dursley's household. Harry jumped out the door and ran to the car, smiling and jumping in, hugging his godfather. "Sirius! I can't wait to learn how to drive!"
Sirius raised an eye. He was surprised Harry was so excited about this, but he thought maybe he shouldn't be. "Alright Harry, first things first. Watch me Harry. I've got hands on the wheel. Hands should be at theā¦"
The next half hour was filled with Harry watching, asking questions, and prodding Sirius to just, "Take off already!"
Sirius poked Harry each time. "I don't want to rush you Harry." He said and continued his speech. He then got out of the car and came around to the other side. Get to yer seat Harry." He said and smiled, watching his godsend look white in near an instant. "A-aren't you showing me how to drive?"
"Gotta do that with you at the wheel dear Godson of mine." Sirius looked at Harry with a smile in his eyes. "Come on, up and at it!" Harry jumped up and walked over to the other side. Sirius jumped into the seat Harry had occupied and watched the teen get in. "Now put the key in."
Harry nodded and grabbed the key from Sirius's hand and put it in. He turned it and the car jumped to life, sputtering a bit, but settling at a deep idle tone. Sirius nodded. "Good job Harry. Now let's get you on the road. At least in this neighborhood we shouldn't have to worry too much about too many other cars on the road."
Harry nodded. "All right." He turned the steering wheel and started moving the car into the road. "Slowly, slowly." Sirius said, making sure not to be too pressuring. "Good, now forward." He grinned widely as his godson got the car moving on the road simply. He didn't have too many issues, which was good. He was slightly worried about how Harry would be when he took him into the city to learn parallel parking, but that was a task for another day. For now Sirius could just sit back and enjoy watching house by house go by as Harry was at the wheel looking like a natural. 'That's my Godson.' He thought.
