Part Five:

Luis stormed up the path to the Crane mansion and threw open the door. Ethan and Theresa, who had been planning where to marry, jumped out of their seats and turned around.

"Luis!" Theresa cried.

"Is it true? Are you going to marry this bastard?"

"Yes, Luis!"

"Why? He's a Crane!"

"So, Luis?" Theresa cried. "You were in love with Sheridan!"

"That's different!" Luis said. "Look, if you marry him, I'll never talk to you again."

"Oh, very mature, Luis," Ethan said.

"You stay out of this, Crane!" Luis cried.

"Luis, I love him. If you honestly love me, you'll let me marry him. Doesn't it mean anything to you—"

She was interrupted By Ethan's cry of "Oh my God!"

Both Theresa and Luis stared at him. "What?" Luis asked.

"S-Sheridan!" Ethan choked out.

"She's dead, Crane!"

"Look!" Ethan cried and rushed over to his aunt.

"Sheridan? Sheridan!" Luis cried.

At seeing her long lost love, she grinned. "Luis! Oh, I'd thought I'd never see you again!"

"Neither did I!" Luis cried.

They embraced.

"What the hell is going on?" Julian asked, storming into the room and stopped when he saw Sheridan.

"How—Why—" He stuttered.

"Julian, my jerk of a brother, nice to see you too."

"But I thought you were dead!" Rebecca cried, sagging against Julian.

She smiled and swayed. "It was all a setup. Now, do you guys mind if I sleep? I'm very tired."

"Before you go, Sheridan, there's something I need to ask you."

"What?"

"Will you be my wife?"

"Of course!" Sheridan cried.

Luis laughed and embraced Sheridan.

Christmas Eve…

"So the night that I was called away by agent Freeman, you and Hank faked your 'death'?" Luis asked again.

She smiled and grasped his hand. "Yes. We didn't want you there. Your grief had to be real."

He gave a self-conscious smile and looked into her eyes. "I love you so much, Sheridan. My heart was broken when I found out about your death."

"That's why I love you so much. You're such a caring, loving person."

They kissed.

"I can't believe that we're getting married tomorrow."

"I know," Sheridan sighed and admired the gold band on her finger.

Luis gave a short chuckle. "To think that I hated Ethan! And now I'm attending his wedding to my sister."

"Our wedding."

Luis smiled. "That's right. Ethan's idea to have the wedding on Christmas was brilliant."

"I know."

"It must be the season of giving because even Julian was willing to accept their love."

Luis grimaced. "What I want to know is, where have Gwen and her mother been this last couple of days?"

They didn't want to know.

"So the plans are finalized?" Rebecca asked Gwen as they sat down to lunch.

Gwen smiled. "Yes."

"Great." Rebecca smiled.
