This story is set on life in the hospital without House, or so it seems.
It was two days after the funeral of his best friend and House was sitting in his garage next to the bike him and Wilson went traveling on. However, House wasn't thinking about Wilson. "Board of Directors" House said to himself quietly.
You see, two days before Wilson's death he recevied a phone call from none other than Lisa Cuddy. Cuddy rang Wilson wondering where he was and why he wasn't in the hospital. As usual, Wilson dragged out some excuse for not being there and asked Lisa how she got his new number. She explained since House's departure, she was offered a role on the board hence how she got his number. House was baffled when Wilson told him and he wasn't able to take his mind off it. House remembers all the times she saved him from those very people yet in his absence she was willing to take the role she always hated? That confused House the most.
Back at the hospital things where going quite well for Foreman. He had got the job he always wanted and didn't have to deal with House. He felt sad, upset that he had passed away but also relieved he only had Chase to deal with. He stared into his cup of coffee as he heard a knock on his door. "Come in". As the door open Foreman jumped to his feet seeing who it was. " Morining Eric" Cuddy smiles. "Welcome back" Foreman smiles as they embrace for a hug. "Feels weird to be back" she replies. "Straight to business?" she queries. "Yes" Foreman replies awkwardly. Cuddy sits down and the pair begin to work.
"I need an oxygen mask...quick" shouts Chase as he runs down the hall. Dr. Adams follows suit with Chi bringing up the rear. The team finally get the elderly patient stable. "Now what?" Adams asked Chase. Chase sighs and shrugs his shoulders. "Everything we've tried has failed" Park moans. The team return to the conference room to discuss the matter.
"We know its not cancer" Chase said. "We ruled that out first". " It could be anything" Adams replies.
"Do we need Foreman again" Chi asks. "NO!" Chase exclaimed as he slammed his fist. "Cuddy is back working with him today. We as a team have to figure this out ourselves". Chase gave a stern look to both Adams and Chi. " You two haven't met her yet have you?" Both the women shake their head. "She kept House and his team out of harms way of the board." As he said this he made a weird hand signal that made the girls giggle. "What? This is serious. Just last month she took up a role on the board.
Cuddy will be the one scrutinising your work for the next couple of days. This is no laughing matter". At this both the girls faces dropped. " With our current patient we won't have our jobs till the end of the week" Adams responsed. Chase gave her the look of death. "Just go run some tests". Chase tries to brush them off. " Test for what?" Chi glares. "On anything you think it might be. Please. I have paperwork that was due yesterday to finish so if you don't mind". Both Adams and Chi leave the room.
In Foreman's office a discussion is getting heated. " Cuddy you of all people should know that this is not possible" Foreman argues. "House isn't around no more. Neither is Wilson. It's time to turn this hospital into what it should be" Cuddy fires back. "And whats that Lisa?" Foreman asks. "This is a teaching hospital after all".
" I know" Cuddy said softly. "House isn't around anymore so its time to turn this place into the best hospital in New Jersey." Foreman looks at her puzzled. "Do you have a plan?" Foreman asks. "I do" Cuddy replies. Cuddy went to his office door and opened it. In stepped three figures.
"Really Cuddy?"
