JUST A LITTLE IDEA I CAME UP WITH. PLEASE REVIEW J

I DON'T OWN NCIS LOS ANGELES OR IT'S CHARACTERS, JUST PLAYING WITH THEM

Kensi had just finished packing up her stuff and was getting ready to leave when she heard footsteps come into the room.

"Kensi." The voice belonging to the footsteps called out softy.

"What, Deeks." She asked, attempting to keep her anger controlled.

"Um. I just. I don't know, I was just thinking." He stammered, not quite sure what he was thinking.

"Deeks, if you don't have anything to say, I'm leaving." To make her point, she picked up her bag and proceeded to walk out, but he stepped in front of her.

"I wouldn't do that." She said to him.

"Ok, listen. I just want to talk to you, okay? Please?" He asked.

"Fine. 5 minutes." Kensi sighed.

"Thanks. Wanna go down to the armory?" He asked.

"Why there?"

"It has air conditioning."

"Fine." She said. The walk to their destination was silent, their footsteps echoing in the hallway. When they arrived, Deeks was the first to speak,

"Tell me about Jack."

Kensi abruptly faced him, "Why?"

"Thought you might want to talk about it." Deeks shrugged.

"No thanks." She said, and turned to leave.

"That's the problem, Kensi. You don't talk, or deal with your problems. So talk to me." Deeks said, trying to help.

"Why would I talk to you." Kensi said.

"Because I'm here now, we're alone, you don't have to hide anything or put up any walls." Deeks said.

"Thanks for your concern, but no thanks. Bye." She said, walking out. Deeks really didn't want to pull this card, but if it was the only way to get her to stay and even talk a little, he'd use it.

"What are you so afraid of?" He called out. Kensi turned and strutted back.

"Excuse me?"

"Why are you afraid of talking about him."

"I'm not." She replied.

"Then talk to me." Deeks said, knowing he got her into a corner she couldn't get out of.

"What if I fall?" She whispered.

"I'll catch you. But you won't." Deeks said just as softly.

"Why do you care so much?"

"You're my partner, Kensi." Deeks said.

"Ok. It was Christmas Morning, and I woke up, and he was gone." She sighed, reluctant to talk about it.

"Kensi, I got that part from Mr. Talbot-backstabbing-lying-SOB-who-tried-to-kill-Kensi-Blye." Deeks said. He wanted more than that.

"Then what do you want to know? That he's the reason I only do first dates? That he's the second man to leave me!" Kensi yelled, almost in tears. After a few deep breaths, she calmed herself down.

"Is that why you don't like talking about your old partner?"

"Yes." Was all she could whisper. She couldn't control her tears anymore and fell into Deeks. The tears rolled silently down her cheeks.

"Okay. Shh, it's okay, Kensi. You're okay." Deeks soothed, stroking her hair. After a while, she sat up.

"Sorry. But it was your idea to talk."

"Yeah, I know. You okay?"

"Fine. It's been longer than five minutes, so I'm just gonna get my stuff." Kensi said, standing up.

"Okay." Deeks said, releasing her. He watched as she walked up the ramp, and opened the door. She turned back, and said,

"And Deeks? A word about this to anyone, and you're dead. And we're never going to talk about this, okay?"

"Got it. And by the way, I never would've guessed that you were carrying that around. Sam and Callen were surprised, too. Just thought you might wanna know." Deeks said. Kensi turned back toward the door, and walked out smiling. She was still the same Kensi that everyone knew.
