Title: A Meaningless Ending
Author: Daitai Otonashii Ookami
Disclaimer: I don't own any manga… I do however own this computer I'm writing on, and my muse, Ayame-hebi…
What I Listened To While Typing: Minuet by From First To Last
----------------
"I wouldn't call our ending bitter. In fact, I wouldn't really call it an ending at all. We parted ways quite suddenly. Neither of us wanting to at all. It just, sort of happened.
"I wouldn't call our beginning much better. We had hated each other. But somehow, we learned that our hate was only love. Everything we knew fell apart around us. We were spinning in circles, trapped in a spiral we could never escape.
"I wouldn't call our middle bad. It was, really, the only part of our relationship when we both could show each other that we cared. I loved you. I still do. I loved how you would smile at me, and I wouldn't be able to help smile back. You were my world.
"I wouldn't call our ending happy. It was anything but. I guess… I'll just have to call it what everyone else does. What the other members of your ANBU squad called it… I'll just have to label it, like everyone else did. I'll just have to call it murder as well. Although, I know that such a brutal word shouldn't be associated with you.
"I didn't want to say goodbye. In fact, I never got to. I never got to see you one more time. I never got to remind you how much I love you.
"Because I do. I love you Naruto. Forever. I just need you to remember that. For me." Uchiha Sasuke took one last look at the tomb he had been kneeling in front of, before standing and walking off, slowly, trying his hardest not to glance back.
Anyone who would've cared to look at the young shinobi's grave would've noticed the words;
Uzumaki Naruto
Died In The Line Of Duty
Leaves Behind;
Friends Who Never Got To Say Goodbye
And Was a Ninja Till The Last
And the gray stone would be littered with the tears of a lover not known, not mentioned.
Status: OneShot. Completed.
