Roach limped his way out of the bathroom, leaning on the door frame for support. He groaned miserably at what he saw on the motel bed in front of him. Both Meat and Royce were sprawled across the mattress, asleep. Both were so tired they didn't bother to fight over the bed, they simply both passed out, not caring how awkward it looked. Roach sighed, eyeballing the pillow and blanket that had been inconsiderably thrown to the floor for him. Between his sprained ankle and sore back from their latest mission, the thought of even laying on the floor made him wince. With slow, exhausted movements he grabbed his backpack and headed out of the motel room towards Ghosts only a few doors down.
….
Ghost shifted from his back to his stomach under the covers. He pulled off his mask and tossed it blindly onto a nearby chair before burying his face in the pillow.
"Thank god I was able to get my own room…"
He tensed at the sound of someone knocking at the door. He sighed softly and turned his head towards the noise, only one eye open.
"Aye?" He called, trying to be as quite as possible. The fact they were there had already drawn plenty of attention from other guests. Instead of an answer the door opened slightly, letting in a small slit of light that hit Ghost right in the eye.
"Whoever it is, come in and shut the bloody door."
The door shut, followed by the slight patter of footsteps. Ghost relaxed. He could tell from the thin silhouette in the dark that it was only Roach.
"You alright mate? What is it?"
Roach leaned on the rickety bed side table, trying to keep weight off his leg.
"I'm fine. Meat and Royce took up the bed."
Ghost smiled to himself and buried his face back in the pillow.
"Aye? What's that have to do with me bug?"
Roach made a small annoyed sound. He hated how Ghost loved to make things difficult for him.
"My back is killing me, can I sleep with you?"
"Now now bug, you know I don't swing that way."
"Ghost!"
The amused lieutenant looked up, blue eyes flashing innocently.
"Calm down there, calm down. Other sides all yours."
Roach mumbled an awkward thanks and hobbled his was to the other side of the bed. He sat down and leaned forward, trying to stretch his back out.
"Hey, would it be out of line if I asked for a back rub?"
"Yes, yes it would."
"I figured."
I haven't done a friendship one shot in a while, so here you go. Sorry it wasn't that good or long. Also, for some reason im not getting emails from fan fiction when I get a review and I don't know why. Any clues?
