Unexpected Realisations

Thalia POV

Since Percy had been accepted by the hunters, things with he hunters had become a lot better. Lady Artemis though was unusual, at time she seemed worried and troubled, then carefree and happy. But the hunt has been more light and joyful. Currently we are staying somewhere in Colorado, all the other hunters were sitting around the campfire, joking and laughing. Percy was nowhere to be seen, probably scouting or doing chores. I didn't feel like going over to the hunters at the campfire so I decided to go for a walk in the woods. I was walking for about an hour, when I came across a cliff, where the forest meets the ocean, with the moon shining almost impossibly brightly at the moment, 'Lady Artemis must be very happy', I thought. I kept on walking along the cliff line until I came to a small clearing on the edge of the cliff. I looked around, the moonlight was bright enough so that I could see clearly around the clearing. Thats when I saw two people on the cliffside, one, the man was laying down his arms on the waist of the woman that was straddling him, bent over kissing him. I saw it and had to keep myself from laughing, but then I wondered how two random people managed to get out here, tens of kilometres from civilisation. Thats when I saw the familiar auburn coloured hair, my smile dropped in my realisation. It was Lady Artemis, the maiden goddess. I just watched frozen in shock. Eventually I regained control of my senses enough to try and see who the male was, I looked closer, and saw black hair with Artemis' fingers running through it. No way. That was Percy! Lady Artemis and Percy. I didn't see that coming. In front of us they always acted cold and distant from each other, but there were those times when they suddenly seemed like the best of friends. They must have been just acting the whole time. I then turned around to head back to camp, resolving to not tell the hunters about my discovery. But when I turned around I saw two dozen young girls in silver parkas behind me, "who are they?", Phoebe asked, "just two mortals", I replied, "Let's get back to camp".
