A/N: This drabble is probably AU because I believe Lavender lived after the battle of Hogwarts. I know her fate was left unknown in the book. Stringing lights is my prompt for 25 days of Christmas and mistletoe is the prompt for Monthly Het-Tastic competition. This drabble is also written for the Pick A List Competition and The Ultimate Shipping Challenge Extravaganza. It has 525 words outside of the author's notes.

Seamus Finnigan nervously stood in front of Lavender Brown's house on Christmas Eve. He was meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time. That was something he had never done in his life. But then again, he never loved another girl as much as he loved Lavender. The two had been friends ever since their first year at Hogwarts, though he always had a crush on her. They didn't start dating until after the war ended.

The door finally opened moments later. Seamus lit up when he saw Lavender. He rushed forward and hugged her tightly. "I missed you," he murmured in her ear. The two hadn't seen each other for two months because his grandparents died, though they had written letters.

He smiled as Lavender blushed before she shyly kissed his cheek. "I missed you more," she whispered back as she reached for his hand and closed the door. She led him through the foyer and into the living room to where her parents were decorating the tree.

Seamus tried to look confident as Lavender cleared her throat. "Mum…dad. This is Seamus. My boyfriend." Seamus looked over at her as she said those words and gave her a small smile.

Her father was stringing the lights on the Christmas tree, though he looked at Seamus and sized him up. "It's nice to meet you, Seamus. Would you come help me with the lights please?"

Seamus looked over at Lavender with terrified eyes. They both knew that he was the wrong person to ask for any kind of help when lights were involved.

"I don't think that is a good idea, daddy," Lavender began to say, but her father was already waving him over.

Seamus had no choice but to help. Her mother began talking away, though he didn't pay attention. He was too busy trying to hold the lights while Lavender's father wrapped them around the tree. If he concentrated enough, then maybe-

BOOM!

The lights on the tree exploded, and the house went completely dark.

"What the bloody hell just happened?" Lavender's father shouted.

Seamus backed away from him nervously. "I- I'm sorry, sir. Things kind of just…blow up when I am around." He swallowed and looked at Lavender. He watched with wide eyes as her father began cracking up.

"I like you. You remind me of me when I was younger. He's a keeper Lavender," her father winked at his daughter and relief spilled over Seamus' features. He had thought he was a goner for sure.

He walked over to Lavender when her parents left the room to get drinks. The lights came on moments later. Lavender smiled at him and pointed up towards the ceiling. "Mistletoe," she whispered.

Seamus rested his head on her forehead and pulled her close. He brushed a hair out of her face before lowering his head to kiss her. Their lips met softly, though he still felt like he was flying. They pulled away seconds later and Seamus looked into her eyes. "Merry Christmas Lavender." he said.

"Merry Christmas Seamus," Lavender answered softly. Seamus was sure that this was going to be the best Christmas ever.

A/N: This is the first time I have written a Seamus/ Lavender fic. I hope it turned out ok! I think I am slowly getting over my writer's block. Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. JK Rowling does.
