A short drabble for today. I hope you'll like it!:)
"Mama! Mama!"
Her little girl's voice came from the parlor and was followed by some unnamable scratchy sound, until a moment later Céline stopped in the doorway of the study.
"Look!" She exclaimed proudly, trying in vain to lift a huge piece of paper by the edge of it.
Christine swallowed uneasily and glanced to the side – only to see how Erik's face drained of color at recognizing the paper in their daughter's hands.
"Bunny," Céline pointed at a bunch of shaky lines in the center of the paperboard as she came closer to the two of them.
"Uhm… very nice," Christine managed to stutter and Céline smiled brightly in return, then scurried away from where she came.
"Is this what I think it is?" Christine managed to ask her husband.
He was frozen on his spot by his desk. "Yes."
"The costume designs for the upcoming performance of Le roi de Lahore? The designs you finished only yesterday?"
"Uh-hm." He still didn't move from his place.
"Uh…" Christine stopped and tried not to laugh. "There's a bunny on Sita's dress."
"Obviously, yes."
"Any ideas?"
"A taller shelf beside the door," he said dryly. He seemed to be smiling, though.
