Thinking
Annabeth's POV
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson or any of the brilliant Rick Riordan books or characters.
As we walked hand in hand through the park, Percy started telling me a story about when him and Grover were running through the mall, being chased by an angry old lady. Seeing as I'd heard this story at least I started to think about what I was going to do with the house I was supposed to build. I faintly heard him talking in the background through my thoughts. Every so often I'd nod my head, so he'd think I was listening.
"You're not listening, are you?" he looked at me with one eyebrow raised, a slightly amused look on his face.
"No, sorry, I was thinking about the house. What gave it away?" I asked curiously.
"Well, I'm guessing it was the part where I said I died, and I'm in ghost form now, and you nodded your head," Percy said laughing.
"Oh," was all I could manage, as my face suddenly felt really hot. "Gods, why do you date me anyway?" I questioned as his face turned serious and he looked away from me, his eyes going to the ground in front of him.
"I don't know. I was thinking about that myself, and I came to the conclusion that I should stop dating you pretty soon..."
I stopped abruptly, mouth slightly agape and a look of confusion on my face. Did he just... He then turned to look at me, hand reaching around to his back pocket, and said,
"Because I was thinking of marrying you instead." He pulled out a little black box with a ring inside, and got down in front of me on one knee, looking up at me with hope in his eyes and a small smirk on his face. I didn't have words, I just stood there, like an idiot with a hand over my open mouth and tears forming in my eyes. The hope started to drain from his eyes.
"It's okay if you don't want to, I won't mind..." he said as he started to put the ring away and get up.
"No, that's not what I meant! After six years of dating, you'd really think I'd say no? Of course I'll marry you Seaweed Brain!" I said as I gave him a big hug. I pulled back to look at him, seeing a big grin on his face that I'm sure was on mine as well. He leaned down to kiss me, only I turned my head just before he could get to my lips, causing him to kiss my cheek instead.
"Oh, no," I said turning to him while he looked at me and pouted. "You really scared me there Seaweed Brain, and you're not getting off the hook that easily."
"But Annabeeeeth," he replied, dragging out the 'e' and looking at me with his big puppy dog eyes. When he saw that didn't work, he stuck his lip out. "Pweeease?" He asked, not dropping the ridiculous face he was pulling.
"Fine, one kiss. But remember, when we're married, you're not getting off the hook that easily for everything." He smiled, and leaned down to kiss me, pulling back only to say, "Annabeth Jackson. Yeah, I could get used to that."
What did ya think? This was my first story ever, so please share your thoughts!
