A Get Backers Fanfic by Rabid Lola

A/N: Rando Ayamine and Yuuya Aoki own Thread Spool and Ren. Keisuke and Hitomi are the Fuuchoins', but you might say I own them. :)

I'm sorry. This was fun. XD

…---…

"No." He shook his head and crossed his arms adamantly.

"Keisuke…" Kazuki tried to make his six-year-old son listen to him.

"No!"

The annaiya sighed and turned to his wife. "He gets it from your side of the family."

She snorted, but her eyes were twinkling. "Oh, sure, blame it on me." She tilted her head. "But Kazuki, he really doesn't want to."

"I know. I didn't at his age, either." The man turned to Keisuke. "Keisuke…"

"Yamato doesn't wear those. Satsu doesn't wear those," the boy stubbornly persisted. "And I can use the strings fine without them. I don't need them!"

Ren chuckled and ruffled her son's hair. "Keisuke, there's something called "family tradition" that your tou-chan really, really needs to follow, even if he doesn't want to…"

"You're not helping," Kazuki interjected wryly.

"You don't have to if you don't want to, Tou-chan. You're a grown-up and you can do anything!" Keisuke said earnestly.

"The world doesn't work that way, son."

"Tou-chan, they're girls' kimonos. Girls' kimonos are for girls. That's why they're called girls' kimonos," the child argued, with a sudden spate of irrefutable logic.

Kazuki resisted the urge to bury his head in his hands. "I know that, Keisuke…"

Ren shook her head. "He's beginning to doubt it, and I am, too…"

The man DID bury his face in his hands then. "Ren!"

She laughed. "Kazuki, it's fine. He's picking up the Fuuchoin Ryuu quite well, even if he isn't effeminate. He's just a level below Hitomi. Besides, is it really necessary?"

Kazuki looked at the pink bundle on the table. "Traditionally it's necessary, but no one ever tried…"

"Well, then, we will! We'll see how it works out with our kids. Who knows, they may find new developments to the Fuuchoin Ryuu." She tilted her head slightly. "Though if you really want to, you can get Hitomi to wear it…"

"No, Tou-chan, no!" Kazuki and Ren turned to see their eldest child, seven-year-old Hitomi, a small, pretty girl…currently slathered in mud and twigs.

Ren sighed. "Have you been playing rough again?"

"Tou-chan, please…" Hitomi was backing away, slowly. "I don't like kimonos, either…"

…--EnD--…

The reason I put this up now, is basically to "introduce" Kazuki and Ren's kids. I've already introduced the Midou kids, and the Amano kids...and you're going to meet them all in my Christmas-themed fanfic that I will hopefully carry off properly. For starters, it's from the point of view of one of Shido's kids. To let you know...it's titled "The Karaoke and The Beastmaster". XD Hopefully it'll be up in a bit.

And hopefully the next chapter of "The Promise" will be to. Do you know how much time making and wrapping Christmas gifts take? :)
