I was in the hospital. I had been asleep but I had heard a struggle. I zoomed behind the door quietly. The man walked in. I aimed for his jugular but he threw me on the bed and stuck a needle in my jaw.
"Don't bother. It's a paralytic."
I struggled anyway. He left a few seconds later. I still couldn't get up, when I could he was gone. I went back and laid in the bed. I eventually, reluctantly fell back to sleep.
When I woke again my mom was in the room and she had signed me out of the hospital.
I packed my things and we got in her car. My car was at home. I talked to her about Conner. She was the only person who needed to know.
"Oh Tyler. Honey I don't know how to stop him."
"You don't have to mom. I have to worry about that. I have my friends to help me. Don't worry." I said trying to convince her.
"Stefan doesn't know what he is. He seems stronger than an average hunter."
"Well that doesn't mean he can't be beat." I said as we parked beside my cars' parking space… Odd… Where is my car?
We walked inside and I saw two men. "Who the hell are you two?" I demanded.
"Tyler, it's okay. They're here for your protection."
"More deputies?" I asked sort of annoyed. But I saw Klaus come in and I was instantly on edge. He was followed by another man.
"Not exactly." He answered my question. I sighed, angry.
"They're Hybrids."
"I was halfway to Chicago when I heard you were attacked. I had hoped to leave Mystic Falls for good, but duty calls."
"Nice to know you care."
"I don't. I should have killed you for the little stunt you and your friends pulled. Stopping my heart; leaving me in a coffin to rot."
"Yeah, well you used my body as an escape hatch and then kissed my girlfriend. So, maybe we're even."
"Not even close. But, you hybrids are a dying breed. I can't make more of you and I won't have anyone taking liberties with the ones I have left." He began walking off. "Consider them your new bodyguards." I glared at the hybrids and stalked away in the opposite direction...
