I actually managed to finish checking this sooner than I thought, so you may as well have it now. However, I think the rest will have to be finished tomorrow. Anyway, enjoy.
"If Thunderbird Two makes contact it will be electrified. Abort."
"All panels dead. Response negative."
"CIRRUS has just sent the energy of one hundred lightning bolts directly into Thunderbird Two's systems."
"I'm going down. Repeat, Thunderbird Two is going down."
Virgil was very protective of Thunderbird Two, so much so that it had led to much jest from Gordon in the early days. So he was rather unappreciative of Fischler sending such a great charge into his machine and frying it.
Essentially, this would be a time when he would happily forgo a rescue for a split moment. Well maybe if he hadn't been rather preoccupied with getting his systems back on line. If he hadn't been so engaged, he may have taken the chance to look at the fleeting scenery that rushed by. It could have been quite enjoyable in other circumstances – or equally not at all.
Being properly airborne was better than falling thousands and thousands of feet. Having control would have been a much nicer addition, but he would live with allowing Gordon it briefly. Albeit, very briefly. Gordon had his own machine to wreck although it wasn't him who actually damaged Thunderbird Two this time.
But despite his anger to a man that nearly destroyed his Thunderbird, Virgil was still capable of recognising the times for fights and the times for rescues. That was why he was going back up, why he was going to persist in his attempts, no matter how dangerous.
"Negative Virgil, you're just a flight hazard now. I've got it from here."
"FAB. Thunderbird Two breaking off."
Just because it was logical didn't mean he had to like it.
There you go, a Virgil piece for all the fans out there, I know he's taken a back seat in recent weeks. As usual, thank you for taking the time to read and so on, I do appreciate it! x
