The soft patter of rain made him feel alive. The cold drops were like daggers on his skin, but he loved the sensation.
Seven years was too long.
At first he had been angry with her, but hiding that anger.
He had left to find Navi, is what he told himself. But he knew it was because he was angry at her.
But after everything that happened in Terminia, he had to find his way back. Seeing what true love could be, seeing the two ready to face an uncertain morning, rather than another moment apart. It was love. And he let go of his anger.
So for seven long years he traveled, trying to find his way home, and seven years had passed. He had finally found her.
He found it harder to sneak in this time, but there was a guard who recognized him. His tunic gave it away, although Link looked nothing like he did as a child. The guard escorted Link to her.
"Zel-" He whispered. His breath felt labored. His body hurt. Zelda gasped in horror as she watched the boy rapidly grow from young to old. Soon Link couldn't stand up by himself. Something was wrong.
"Link." She whispered as he lay in her lap. "How long were you in the woods?" She brushed the greying hair out of his face.
"Seven… Years…." He whispered. His voice was weak.
Zelda looked up at the guard. "In the Kokiri forest."
"No… Searching… For you…"
"Link, can't you see? You've spent so long in those woods. Link, you've met with a terrible fate."
A terrible fate.
A terrible fate.
A terrible fate.
A broken mask.
A fierce deity.
A terrible fate.
