AN: Bonjoure all! I know this fic is kinda different from what I've done before, but please take the chance on it. I wrote it during fourth period today while the power was out; maybe the darkness diluted my brain or something. I dunno.

Waking up to Michael Vaughn was like waking up to heaven on a silver platter. Her eyes fluttering open, Sydney was blinded by the sunlight that poured through the sheer pink curtains of her room. Her eyes adjusting to the light, she rolled over on her left side, propping her head up on her cool hand, and smiled at his sleeping form. A slight smile was etched by the slight upturn of his lips, as the sunlight danced across his face. Sydney smiled and sighed contentedly. She knew she finally had gotten a taste of what heaven was like. Only in heaven could she lie next to her guardian angel and not be killed because of it. Wiggling her toes beneath the sheets, she pulled her right hand from beneath the comforter and rested it on his chest and let it snake up to his cheek which she caressed tenderly, marveling at the smoothness of his skin beneath her fingertips. "Oh, how I love this man," she thought as she scooted closer to him. Feeling a familiar warmth radiate around her, her thoughts drifted to the events of the previous night... standing above the stove with him watching her every move with loving eyes, her dipping the wooden spoon into the pan of steaming red sauce and bringing it to her lips, and then to his as she caressed his cheek with her thin fingertips. Bending down to check the bread in the oven and being stopped, his strong hand brushing against her arm. Turning around to be welcome by his gorgeous face , pulling him close and pressing her warm lips to his in a sweet kiss. Him pulling away, stroking her hair and murmuring "You're so beautiful." Her believing those spoken words for the first time in her life and loving every fiber of him for it. Kissing him yet again, digesting his soothing taste, and remorsefully stating the obvious: dinner was ready. Looking into his eyes to let him know that food was the last thing on her mind and him reminding her that ovens could reheat. The love that spread into her heart as he lifted her from the floor in yet another passionate kiss, both of them stumbling backwards towards her bedroom. The smiled that played against her mouth as she slowly reclined against the bed. Their scents combining to create the most sensual mixture. Roses. Summer. Peppermint. Cinnamon. Love. Clothes forgotten and long-gone, they basked within each other. His loving, sexy French whispers to her ear: Me amoure, mon ange. Her whispering back in her native tongue phrases that she thought could only be said sincerely in movies- but she realized how wrong she was. "Michael, my angel, is this real? Or is it all one fantastic dream?" "No, Syd, it's real. I promise." Him kissing her ear lobe tenderly. "I never realized that I had never made love before. But now...thank you, love." "I feel the same, Syd. My father used to say that I would know when I had found her. And Syd, I've found you." Her eyes welled with tears, realizing just how long they had waited for each other. Too many days, hours, minutes, seconds to count. Too many nights yearning for the comfort of the other's arms. But now...the wait was over. Dark had changed to light - coal to diamonds. And love. Love always.
