How do you like me now?
I remember every word those kids said to me when I was younger: I'd never amount to anything, they said. I was stupid, they said. I need to get a life, they said. They bullied be to the point where I would go home crying.
One day, I told a girl, Karen, that I liked her. She had laughed in my face, telling me that the only person who would ever love me is my mother.
"But I'm going to be a Pokèmon Master, one day..." I told her in vain. She laughed even harder.
"You are so stupid!"
It was five years later, now, and I finally showed them. At the mere age of 20, I'd finally completed my quest. I grinned as Professor Oak led me down to the hall of fame. I was so excited. I'd finally made something of myself.
I called my mother and told her the good news.
"Mom, I did it! I finally beat the Pokèmon league!" I exclaimed. She didn't seem nearly as thrilled as I thought she'd be.
"Erm...that's...great, sweetie," she complemented. Before she hung up, she had me assure her that I would visit her that weekend.
I would do as my mother asked, but first, I had more important matters to attend to. Karen now worked at the local Mart. She used to join others in mocking me, and told me I would never make something of myself. I'd show her.
I walked to the Mart, after all, it was only a couple of blocks away. I stormed in and scouted out the blonde headed girl. I found her in the checkout line, scanning items. The line was long, but no matter.
I walked to the front of the line, eliciting angry responses from those in the line. Don't they know who I am?
Karen looked up at me with a crazy expression.
"What are you doing?!" she snapped. I smirked and slammed a devise on the counter. She looked at the devise, dumbfounded.
"You told me five years ago that I'd never amount to anything," I explained. She glared.
"So you storm into my store just to relive the past?"
I threw my arms in the air.
"Look at me now!" I bragged. "Pokèmon Master! What now?"
Karen looked at the devise once more, then back at me.
"You do know that Pokèmon is just a game, right?" She picked up my DS and threw it at me. "Now, beat it!"
I didn't care what she said. She was clearly just jealous.
A/N: Yes, this is a joke. I got the idea when the song "How do you like me now" by Toby Keith came on. I didn't want to make it longer, because I was sure it would lose its effect if it did.
Before I posted this, I showed this to a friend, who said she wasn't sure if this was actually considered fanfiction. I think it is, considering the point is to make it seem as though the main character was actually in the Pokémon world, so I posted it. This being said, if anyone feels that this isn't fanfiction, let me know and I'll remove it. Anyway, reviews and criticism welcome.
