Author's Note: It's a bleary, boring Saturday morning and I have nothing to do. So I wrote this random Sonya/Lee. Review if you want me to continue. Sorry it's so short and really really really really really seriously bad...I just wanted to get a Sonya/Lee out as fast as I could.
Disclaimer: I own not this cartoon.
Happy Halloween
12-year-old Sonya cowered. Why was it so dark every night? Especially this night…it was Halloween, and Sonya was waiting for friends to come trick-or-treat with her. Lee was supposed to come, and Tommy. Neither one was there yet. And it was dark…
Lee walked up to Sonya's house, where she was sitting, dressed up like an angel. Lee was in his ushanka and carrying his yo-yo. He wasn't dressed up as anything. It wasn't like him to dress up. "Hey, Sonya," he said. "When are we leaving?"
Sonya shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "Tommy's not here yet…"
"Was Tommy supposed to come?" Lee wondered. He could have sworn…
Sonya nodded, still sitting on the steps. "Yeah, he was, actually."
Lee cocked his head. "I just saw Tommy trick-or-treating with a bunch of teenagers from the eighth grade at our school."
Sonya's mouth dropped open. "Are you sure?"
Lee nodded. "Yeah. Not cool."
Sonya stood up and said briskly, "Oh, well. We're going to trick-or-treat anytime we want to!" She looked around fearfully, as if just realizing her surroundings. "But, Lee, it's dark…"
Sonya had always been afraid of the dark, and Lee had always been there to help her through anything. "I'll be here," he said. "I won't leave you. That's a promise."
Sonya smiled at him and pulled off his ushanka, ruffling his hair. "Thanks, Lee." She replaced the ushanka on his head.
"No problem."
------
"Trick-or-treat!" Sonya held out her bag, and Lee held out his.
The lady dressed as a princess dropped some humongous candy bars into their bags.
"Thanks!" Sonya said, walking away as the lady smiled at them and closed her door.
"Okay," Sonya said to Lee. "That was our last house. Home, or to the tree house?"
"Tree house," Lee decided firmly, playing with his yo-yo.
On the way there, some teenagers leaped out of the shadows in masks and yelled out at Sonya.
"Ah!" Sonya shrieked, repeatedly. She was terrified. "Ah! Ah! Ah!"
Lee leapt out from behind Sonya, knocking one guy in the head with a yo-yo. "Stop!" he commanded, wrapping his arms around Sonya and giving her a protective hug.
The teenager stepped forward, pulling his mask of. "What are you gonna do about it, huh, you little punk?"
Lee didn't answer. He was murmuring quiet words to Sonya, her face buried in his chest.
The teenager leaned in closer. "I said, what are you gonna do about it?"
Lee snapped his head up. "Go away," he replied angrily.
The teenager leaned back, as if surprised. "What?"
"I said, go away!"
The teenager looked around at his friends, shrugged, and they walked off.
Lee murmured quiet words to Sonya all the way back to the tree house.
------
When they got to the tree house, Lee lead Sonya to her room quietly. He placed Sonya in her bed, pulling the covers up over her body, tucking her in.
Lee slowly stroked Sonya's hair and waited for her to fall asleep before walking out the door to his own room.
And Lee fell asleep, knowing, once again, that he had played the hero.
He was Sonya's light in the darkness.
