A story written with the song 'I Bet My Life' by Imagine Dragons playing on loop. My paragraphs fit their paragraphs, so make sure you listen to the song while reading this. To me the story just formed with this pairing in mind and I hope you can see it too.

Enjoy!

...

The first verse starts with reminiscing back to previous times, memories crashing down as the taxi drives me through the streets. Our younger years were perfect when we were simply happy together, until I decided to stretch your limits, and chose a life you could barely be part of. The rockstar life that would give me all the attention I ever asked for. While you lied alone in bed, I would be on stage, feeding off the energy of the crowd. And I would tell you all about it, flinging my blond hair to the side to show that you didn't matter, didn't fit in this life. That this was my dream. I remember the tears, the ones I ignored as I rocked on.

When the chorus then sets in I feel the power of it coursing through my veins, pushing me forward. The taxi driver is not happy as I jump out of the car, done with waiting in front of this red light. There is no time to waste. I will run, run as fast as I can. The flashing lights always catch up, but they don't matter.

The peace settles in again during the second verse, because I'm running through streets I'm not familiar with. You felt the need to move, get away from everything that was me. Be in a small house downtown. Because I told you I would not be around anymore. That it was for the better if the media never saw us together, as lie towards them that I was still single. That there was no one in my life. I fake dated so many people, and the rumours crushed you, I know. But the truth is you are my everything. You are in everything I do. Every song I sing, every word I write, every smile I give, is with you in mind.

Another powerful chorus rushes through me as I find your street, and I run once more. To the right house, eyes scanning every number as I crash passed them. Cars are speeding down beside me, screaming things at me, asking me questions. But my attention is not theirs. I will not listen to them. I will find your house. Your fence is small and rusted, showing how you don't care for your front yard, because you don't want anyone to care. Your door is painted red, a bit flashy, and more fitting for me, but it's your door. As the cameras start flashing again I knock on the door.

As the door opens I can feel the beat change, the tones softer, fitting for a bridge to wrap the story together. And you will speak your words, resolute but sweet, trying to get me to stop. Trying to reason with me that this is not what I want. But trust me; this is exactly what I want. Everything I've done is yesterday now. No more lies, no more abandoning you in your bed.

I'll convince you with the last chorus, bursting out of my as my final explosion. And you'll feel it, thumping through your veins, the energy I carry, solely for you. So I sink through my knee, crouched down in the perfect pose you've been waiting on for so long. In front of the flashing cameras, so everyone will know. I will be called an attention seeker. Will be called a faker that just does this to appeal to the fans. But you know better. Because now the crowd knows of your existence, and they will know you are mine, and I will always be yours.

I bet my life on you

"Itachi, will you marry me?"
