A/N: Hi there! This is my first time actually writing a fanfic, so I'd appreciate it if you guys will critique the stories I'll post from now on. And this is a Jou X Hajime fanfic. I know, this pairing is nearly nonexistent, but that doesn't really stopped me from writing this (I LIKE THIS SHIP TOO MUCH). Despite the possible OOCness, I hope I was still able to grasp some of their personalities. Thank you for reading!
Summary: Hajime confronts Jou about his behavior and he finally admits defeat.
The tall green-haired man continued walking as fast as he can when he felt certain footsteps following him from behind.
"Jou-san!" He could imagine her pouting as she said that.
"Jouuuuu-san!" Suddenly, a shoulder-length black-haired girl ran up to him and stopped him from going further. She stared up at him with the pouting lips he had expected. He moved to the side and was about to walk away when she stopped him with her body. He stared down at her eager eyes staring back at him.
"..."
"Jou-san, it's not nice to not reply to people who are talking to you!" Hajime puffed up her cheeks. Jou resisted the urge to squish them.
"Well, what does the little lady want?" He breathed in smoke to calm himself, and looked away to breathe out.
"You always avoid me when I want to talk to you, you only speak up at the times I'm not really speaking up, you act distant - but Jou-san!" She suddenly raised her voice louder, startling him.
"We have different reasons for acting cool and awesome and stuff like that, stuff like ... Stuff like ... Stuff like that! But it won't be cool and awesome if you start ignoring your friends! Especially when their talking to you and you're ignoring what they said and you're avoiding them! Jou-san!" A gush of words were flown at Jou, but for some reason, he still managed to make out some of what she was saying.
Hajime was not puffing up her cheeks anymore but her fists were clinched and her eyes were eager as ever, but the tension was lift up when Jou suddenly ruffled her hair. Her face lift up at the sudden intimacy.
"You're confusing." He smiled lightly.
"I'm Hajime!" She puffed up her cheeks once more, but it was a playful protest.
As he stared down at her eyes, her puffed up cheeks, her determined figure, he thought about the lost moments that could have happened if he didn't do what he was doing now. He sighed, and scratched his head as though admitting himself to defeat. Today will be the last of that though, he thought.
He smiled at her reaction when he took up the courage to finally squish those cheeks. He made sure not to squish them too hard, though.
"Hajime, you're confusing."
