From Uncle Terry To Me

It was a sad day a very sad day

When my Uncle Terry "Willy" Gannon passed away

Me and my dad arrived a little late

As we touched down on the tarmac on Dublin Airport

He gave his last couple of huff puffs

All the while fighting to see another day

One wonders even though Terry was surrounded by all his family here in Ireland

Was he thinking about me and my dad wondering if we'll get here on time

To see him and tell him how much we love him

Before he passes into the afterlife

But even though he passed before we got there

At least we got to say goodbye both me and my dad both had tears in our eyes

I was left with sad memories and a heavy heart

I knew he wasn't going to get better because of his disease called MSA

Or otherwise known as Multiple system atrophy

I slowly had to watch my uncle wither away into nothingness a shell of his former self

But while he was alive we always reminded him constantly of the good times

And not the bad

After hearing and seeing for possibly the last time

I went to sleep after having a restless sleep on the plane

And even though Uncle Terry "Willy" Gannon was gone and never coming back

After waking up from my big sleep I looked out of my window

And saw pass the cow pasture and up on top of a hill

A rainbow in all of it's wonderful glory of red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and violet

Even from heaven it's my firm believe that my Uncle Terry was trying to cheer me up
