A/N: Because EnStars is actually available to me through another form other an anime - thaaaanks, TsukiPro. Was really looking forward to that 2015 release - it's taken up a lot of my time. And money. Loooots of money has gone into blooming a certain card of a certain twin.
Zephyr suggested we be on-time with Valentine fics this year. I decided to make it a personal goal to write more than one and maybe upload more than one... maybe... Christmas didn't go as planned, obviously.
Well, that, and I couldn't decide on which pairing to write for this year and basically said "Fuck it, ALL OF THEM."
.
"Chiaki, do you "like" chocolate?"
Chiaki looked up from his phone, blinking as drops of water fell onto his face from Kanata's hair. The other boy was leaning over the edge of the fountain, his usual serene expression on his face. He smiled.
"Yeah, of course!" He said happily, reaching up to pat Kanata on the head. He ignored the water that splashed on him as a result of this action. "Are you going to give me some?"
His answer was a small blue packet dropping on his forehead, tied with a darker blue ribbon with a the word "Hero" repeated several times.
"I made it "special" for Chiaki." Kanata said, smiling brightly. From anyone else, that phrase would have been sweet, a sign of affection - from Kanata, it was slightly foreboding, seeing as this was the teen that replaced the windows in the Marine Biology Club's room with fish tanks.
Thankfully, it was from Kanata to Chiaki, who was not anyone else but himself, and didn't find it odd at all.
Thanking the boy with an awkward, slightly painful hug from his position, he pulled the ribbon loose and opened the packet, surprised to see that the chocolates weren't shaped like he'd expected. It seemed more like a mix of their shared interests - fish, stars, and misshapen super hero masks.
"As expected of my second-in-command!" Chiaki said loudly, looking back at the other boy, who had shifted so that his head was lying on folded arms. "Truly, it is the blue flames that understand the red the most! Why, I couldn't think of anyone else that-"
"Chiaki." Kanata said cheerfully with a hint of annoyance. "Please "be quiet" and eat."
Complying, Chiaki picked out one of the chocolates - a star-shaped one, he couldn't bring himself to eat one of the hero-shaped ones just yet - and popped it in his mouth, letting it melt on his tongue. He made a sound of approval.
"Sea salt caramel!" He exclaimed, turning to his companion with sparkling eyes. Kanata smiled sweetly, and Chiaki stepped out of his usual character to praise him. "It's great! Not just the shapes, even the flavor is of the sea! Well done, Kanata!"
Kanata giggled happily, tilting his head towards the other boy.
"I was a "good boy", right? Will you "praise" me more?" He asked. Chiaki grinned.
"Very good boy! Alright, I'll praise you a whole lot today!" He reached up, patting Kanata's blue hair again. "Will you make it again next year?"
"Mmm, maybe~"
.
A/N: Obviously since I'm doing more than one they're not going to be very long. Not this one, at least. ChiKana is cute as hell, but whenever I write them it turns out not to be that long...
