"Okay class," Professor Johnson, my history professor, said, "I have a surprise for you. A while ago, someone came up to me and told me that in order to finally become a history professor, he needed to teach a class. And so I agreed. Which is why today, and for the rest of this week, Darcy Hawthorne will be teaching this class!"

As soon as the professor had finished saying that, the class started talking. I was shell shocked for a moment before a grin spread across my face. Darcy was going to be here!

Once the class was once again quiet, Professor Johnson continued. "And now," she said, as she opened up the door, "please welcome Darcy Hawthorne, your professor for the week!"

The class cheered. And me, I just sat there with a huge grin on my face. Darcy was here!

"Okay. All of the rules that apply when I teach apply when Darcy teaches. Don't talk when he is talking. At least pretend to be listening. No PDA. And no using your phone." Professor Johnson turned to Darcy. "How would you like to be addressed?"

He thought for a moment before answering. "I guess Mr. Hawthorne would be fine."

And then I, stood up, without thinking, and started teasing Darcy. "What, No Mr. Darcy? I'm disappointed."

Darcy laughs. "Unfortunately no. Well, anyways, do any of you have any questions?"

A few people start asking him questions (I think it's mostly the females….tsktsktsk), but I don't really listen instead, I do exactly what Professor Johnson asked me not to do. I take my phone out. And I start texting Darcy.

Jess: Fancy seeing you here Ariel

Darcy looks at me with a questioning look, and I grin in return. Soon enough though, he texts me back.

Darcy: why it's a pleasure seeing u again miss elizabeth

Jess: i can't believe u're teaching this class

Darcy: i can't believe u're in this class i thought you learned enough on the weekends…

Jess: yep. I do. It's an easy A :)

Darcy: jess taking a class because it's an easy a! What has the world come to? Tsktsktsk

Jess: urg. shut up Ariel.

Darcy: shut up.

Jess: whatever. does tonight work for you?

Darcy: okay. i'll be sure to bring calculus books! :)

And then, everything started to go wrong.

"Jess. No texting in class!" Professor Johnson said, suddenly appearing right next to me.

I smile and nervously up at her. "Sorry."

"Sorry doesn't cover it. You need to follow the rules while you're in my classroom. And you shall also have to face the consequences. Up to the front now. And you know the rules. First you tell the class the contact name, and then you read the last ten texts you texted. I will be looking at your phone too, so there's no point in lying."

I trudge to the front. I can't think of a way to get out of this mess. Aw shucks.

"Okay," I say, looking at Darcy for help. He shrugs his shoulders. Ugh. "Okay," I say again, grimacing, "the contact name is Darcy Hawthorne."

Instantly there was noise.

"Darcy Hawthorne. Yeah right." I heard someone say.

Professor Johnson looked at my phone. "Actually," she told the class, "she's not lying." then she looked at me, and said "And why on earth would you be texting him in the middle of this lesson-"

I interrupted her before she could continue. "I know him from somewhere."

"I believe that is the second rule you have broken today."

Then, without thinking, I looked Professor Johnson in the eye, and said, "Then I believe I shall have to break the third." And I walked over to Darcy, and kissed him on the lips, in front of the whole class.

"I missed you, boyfriend."
