This was out of the blue really, you see the photo I have as my cover was what had given me this idea. If you want to see it bigger, you can find it on my deviant art page, if you like. I hope you like it minna-san!

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha.

"Whether it could be pulling out a chair, gentlemen have different ways to show their lover or lady-friend that they care for them…I wonder if I'll met someone who'd pull out a chair for me, or hold the door for me," Kagome looked up from her book, gazing at the nearly cloudless sky.

Mama always said to have a gentlemen, one who would be respectful, honest, loving, but the last time she had told me that was before I fell down the well.

Kagome tapped the pad of her forefinger on her chin, humming softly to herself in deep thought. The character in the book, a girl was telling her mother that she wanted to start going out with boys. However the boy in the book seemed so surreal, almost perfect.

Life wasn't perfect, nothing was perfect, she knew that much.

Her thoughts drifted to the book she was reading during her spare time, no demon fighting, no jewel shards to look for, as of now at least, and no Naraku to fight. The evil hanyō hadn't attacked nor let a trace of his whereabouts come out in the open.

Their journey to find the jewel shards was put on hold as Sango had gone back to her village, with Miroku and Shippo, wanting to pray for her father and the people she had once knew.

Her eyes found that the once bright red-clad figure, who was lazily perched on one of the branches of the tree she was currently sitting under, had disappeared from his place. Kagome scratched her head, as she could have sworn that her hanyō companion was there only a few seconds ago, last time she checked.

Turning her head back to the book settled in her hands, however, in doing so she had locked eyes with the half demon she was wondering about. There he stood, a good few inches away from her face, his breath tickling her face and causing her to flush tremendously.

"I-Inuyasha," She stuttered, feeling her face burn even more when his golden-amber orbs softened then closed.

His hand outstretched towards her to quickly for her to notice, he scowled a little, but she didn't dismiss the small pink hue the bridge of his nose. "Here," he had said surly.

Her blue eyes widened when a reddish-pink lotus flower was now directly in front of her line of view, Inuyasha Her hands subconsciously reached for the delicate flower. The lotus flower he had given her, was such a simple gesture, nevertheless making her heart pound in her ears. It was moments like this that was so rare to her, even from under his brusque behavior, he had a soft side she would infrequently see.

She knew that her blush increased ten fold right then and there. "T-Thank you, it's beautiful," Kagome told him, only to receive a "keh" in response.

Even from his arrogant and gruff demeanor to his fuzzy ears she had loved so, she would pick Inuyasha over a gentlemen any day. To her, he was a man of honor, much more than any other gentlemen could ever be, her protector.
