He knew she was never going to love him back. But a guy can dream right? She was always focused on her goals and being the leader of Afterlife Battlefront. Noda knew how everyone else felt about him. Calling him a dumbass and a moron. He didn't give a damn anyways how they feel about him. It's their own problem.

Every single time, he tries to support her and be on her side. Attacking people who get in her way like Otonashi and agreeing with her. She never gave him a second thought, a second glance. No romantic looks or blushing ever came from her. She never loved him.

He was fine with that.

Noda knew it was hopeless ever since he fell in love. There was no point of loving a person who will never love him back. That's what one side of his brain always had said. The other part, the more loyal part, wanted to keep trying and see that maybe, maybe she will change her mind.

He listened to the latter. He waited and waited. He always stayed by her side and even when she called him a moron and kicked his face, he stayed.

But now, as he gets ready to move on from the Afterlife, he wonders if he should even say goodbye. Goodbye to the girl who he loved ever since he came here. Goodbye to their leader and their friend. Goodbye to the girl who never loved him back.

Noda listened to everybody else talking and saying their final goodbyes. Soon, half of them were already gone.

Although, he loved(he would never admit it out loud though), his time here, arguing with his teammates and practicing his skills, he couldn't wait to go back. Back to the real world, the world of the living.

That's when he decided, he needed to leave now. If he stayed and was able to talk to Yuri, it would be harder. Harder to leave the memories of his time with his friends and her.

Heh, now he sounds like a sissy.

Then he began to do the one thing he hates the most. Think. Thinking of his past life and that one true regret that kept him there.

He knew he was at peace and was quickly fading away but he wanted to see it again. Swiftly, he dug inside his coat and grabbed the photo. Noda knew it seemed a bit stalkerish but right now wasn't the time to think of that. It was a side-view photo of his unrequited love.

Smiling for the last time, he said he final words.

"I hope we meet again, Yuri."
