There is one thing no one with a low IQ should ever attempt to achieve. This action is so challenging and difficult, that many geniuses scurry away whimpering like kicked puppy dogs at the very thought of it.
Yes. I am talking about changing the lightbulb.
Many have attempted to get to the root of why the simple household chore is so mentally stimulating, not to mention emotionally scarring.
Example A - Q: How many Psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one, but the bulb has got to really WANT to change.
Example B - Q: How many magicians does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Depends on what you want to change it into.
As you can see, we're not any closer to the answer than we were before, but not for lack of trying. The reasons the lightbulb is difficult to change, is directly related to the individual attempting to change it.
With all the damaging effects that changing light bulbs have, you would think that no one would attempt to go through with this horrendous task.
Yeah, well, love makes you do stupid things.
Jack Fenton and Vlad Masters were in love. Erm...not with each other, mind you. They were both deeply and hopelessly in love with Maddie Harrison. They were best friends, and in love with the same girl. Let's wait for the slower among us to catch up.
Yes. They are both idiots! Of course, neither realized the feelings the other had. Let's chalk that up to hormones, shall we? Maddie was sweet, beautiful, and intelligent. She was also busy studying. The boys hanging out in her dorm room, didn't study. At all. Ever. They did remain in the same room as Maddie when she studied though. They considered this the same thing, really.
Which is where the story begins:
"The light's flickering. Can one of you go-" Both Vlad and Jack hopped up immediately from their conversation about ghosts.
"I'll do it!" Two voices cried in unison.
"No I'LL do it!" Both voices cried again. Beautiful Maddie's eye twitched.
"Well could one of you do it?" Both boys almost burst out in tears. She was angry at them. But both took the initiative. The large muscular/overweight one ran out to a Home Improvement store to buy a ladder he would never use again, while the skinny one scurried off to the supply store for a lightbulb.
Maddie looked up. She twitched again. Her chair rolled over to the wall. One slim hand reached out, seized a plug, and yanked on it. The light went out, and the room became slightly darker. The other hand found a light switch, and flicked it upwards. Her chair rolled back to her desk.
"I just wanted them to turn on the light." A single feminine voice muttered to herself in the now empty room.
Many hours later, Vlad and Jack returned with their purchases. Vlad's hand grasped a bag with every type of lightbulb the supply store offered. He hadn't a clue what wattage Beautiful Maddie needed. Jack had a ladder so long, it scarcely fit in the dorm room. They had brought these supplies to change Maddie's lightbulb. Jack knocked on the door and waited for Maddie to answer, her face shining with admiration. She did answer, but her face wasn't shinig with admiration.
"What are you two doing here?" She asked
"We came to change your lightbulb." Was her answer. Maddie looked between the two proud faces, rolled her eyes, and slammed the door.
"Idiots."
