Hi, everybody! Another story... Wow! I kind of feel a little sad and wrote this. My friend asked me to do a story like this, since I was going to publish what I wrote. However, I did change something (Sorry, E, had to be). This is NOT a Rexsoka story. They have more of a brother/sister relationship. Read on my friend.

Time And Memories

Captain Rex laid awake at in the early morning hours. It had been months since Order 66, but he couldn't get the image of the frightened Padawan out of his mind. Ahsoka Tano had kept him up just by her memory. The last time he saw her had been when he shot her; leaving her for dead.

Why couldn't I kill her directly? The question kept him up to this time every night. He knew he killed her, but very slowly. Why?

Rex looked at his helmet, it's paint was wearing. He laughed slightly at the thought of Ahsoka, when she would playfully tap it and ask him about the Mandalorian marks. He would always refuse to tell her without over stepping his bonds as a soldier.

He closed his eyes, hoping what sleep he could gather would come.

Ahsoka Tano pulled her cape closer around her, the wind nearly ripping it from her grasp. The thought that only a year ago she had no worries to think of, nothing to permanently run from, turned her stomach. She was as wanted as a criminal, and to most see was considered such.

The betrayal of Palpatine had caused the Jedi so much pain. Everyone she had ever known was dead, even those she loved with all her heart.

One clone had stood out from the rest, and, besides her Master, was her best friend. She talked to him after every mission. She loved him like a brother, but now he was gone.

Ahsoka let a tear fall. Rex had shot her. She had seen the pain in his eyes, he didn't want to do it. Somehow, among the blur of crawling in agony, she had made it to a medical station and survived. They had deleted her records, making sure no evidence of her time spent there could be found.

She had to tell Rex she was alive, clear his conscious. With the Force mostly void, it was easy to feel his grief through the Force at late nights, no matter how far away he was.

Ahsoka entered a broken down hut, shielding her from the rain beginning to fall. She took her comlink, altering it some with a receiver. This was her last chance to talk to Rex, and probably the last time she ever would.

"Rex," She said into the comm.

Rex's comlink beeped, startling him. He pressed it and said in a tired voice, "Rex here."

"Rex." Ahsoka sighed with relief.

"Ahsoka?" Rex sat up quickly in his cot, banging his head on the cot above him.

Ahsoka heard the noise. "Are you alright?" She asked quietly.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, but you...?" He couldn't finish his sentence.

"I'm fine for now. Look, Rex, I... shouldn't have called you..."

"No, don't go!" Rex said as loud as he dared.

Ahsoka was close to tears and her voice was breaking. "I... I just had to tell you!" She cried.

"What?" Rex asked, nervously rubbing his sore head.

"I love you, Rex," Ahsoka replied. "Despite all the horrible things that have happened. I want you to know that."

"Yeah," Rex said smiling. "I love you, too, kid,"

Ahsoka broke the connection, bursting into tears.

Rex felt relief overcome him with what had just happened, but for the first time in his life, he felt like crying. All of his life came crashing down. He did love Ahsoka, as a brother should, but he missed as much as one should.

Rex never heard from the girl again.

The End

What do you think? Sad? Happy? Touching? Tell me! :D
