"Frank…" Natalie Tennyson started again for the fifth time.

"Lili, give it a rest," he sighed from the front seat of their car. He turned down the main road. "Gwenny's a big girl. She can stay home alone by herself. You've never doubted her before."

"Before there wasn't that Levin boy," his wife argued. "I don't trust him."

"He seems perfectly nice to me."

"He dresses like a delinquent! Gwendolyn could do so much better…"

"So you don't approve?" He observed, stopping at a red light.

"I do… but… she could do better," Lili repeated lamely.

"Lili…" He let go of the steering wheel to squeeze her hand. "If we can't even go out to dinner without you stressing out about this, Gwen isn't going to be happy. Besides, do you think our daughter would let him do something… weird? She's a black belt in karate! And an Anodite…" He pursed his lips when his wife scowled. "In any case, Gwen is a responsible young girl, and we trust her. Right, dear?"

"Right, Frank…" she sighed as he leaned over and pecked her cheek as the light turned green.

The Tennyson's car pulled up into their road and into the driveway. As the Anodite's parents exited the car they noticed that except for the porch light, the only illuminated window was their daughters. A familiar head of black hair was in front of it, back to the window. Lili's fury rose.

"If they're doing anything strangein there she will be grounded for-"

Her husband cut her off by opening the door and ushering her inside. The concerned parents quietly put down their coats and went upstairs.

"Gwenny? We're home," Natalie Tennyson said as she opened her daughter's bedroom door, prepared to start yelling of inappropriate things were happening inside.

Well. What she saw before her certainly wasn't what she expected.

The lights were on, dimly lighting the room. Kevin was sitting against the headboard of Gwen's bed, legs stretched out in front of him with a motorcycle magazine next to him. Gwendolyn was wearing a pair of blue flannel pajamas and was fast asleep, her head in her boyfriend's lap and a wooly blanket draped over her sleeping form. Kevin was smiling as he caressed her hair, a calm look on his face that neither of the redhead's parents ever expected him to be capable of making.

"Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson." He said, looking up to face them. "Have a nice night?"

"Oh, hello Kevin," Frank said, knowing Natalie would probably say something rude. "Yes, it was excellent. You and Gwen?"

"We had some takeout, Gwen helped me study for a bit, watched TV and then she fell asleep…" He cleared his throat, looking uncomfortable. "Well since you're back I guess I'll be going now." He carefully lifted Gwen up so he could remove his legs, set her back on the bed and slipped on his shoes. "G'night, Mr and Mrs. T." He let his hand linger on Gwen's hair before he brushed past her parents to go home.

"Well, Lili?" Frank asked as they got ready for bed. "What did you think of that?"

"I still think Gwenny could do better…" she said as she left the bathroom, "But he isn't as irresponsible as I thought he was. Perhaps they could work out together."

"Perhaps? I think they're crazy about each other."
