A/N This is a lame little thing I thought of after reading the prompt "when you called asking if I had your back I assumed you killed someone not that you stole all the pet store fish in an act of love". Obviously I thought of Percy and this is what happened. I don't own PJO and I hope you enjoy.

When Annabeth's phone buzzed at 2:00am you could say that she was wary about who would call. Work wouldn't dare bother her this late so she assumed it was a drunk call from one of her friends. Only after seeing her boyfriend's name on the screen did she realize that there was something happening. Percy had never had alcohol his life. It reminded him too much of his nasty first stepfather: Gabe.

"Hello?" Annabeth said as she picked up the phone.

"Hi Annabeth. Um I was just wondering if you have my back if something was to happen." Percy's voice crackled through the speaker and Annabeth was wide awake.

"What happened?" Annabeth asked cautiously.

"Come to my apartment and I'll tell you." Percy said before shushing something.

"You're lucky you live close." Annabeth huffed before hanging up and putting on some jeans with a shirt. The walk to Percy's apartment took five minutes and he greeted her with a sheepish expression. He guided her past his small kitchen/living room to reach his bathroom. Everything seemed in place until Annabeth looked in his bathtub. There were hundreds of small fish moving through the water.

"Perseus Jackson what did you do? Are these from the aquarium?" Annabeth placed her hands on her hips while staring at the boy.

"I would never take the aquarium fish! I make sure they're taken care of. These fish are from pet store. I went there to see if I could get something for Blackjack when the fish started talking. They said how cramped it was so I went back later and rescued them!" Percy smiled triumphantly.

"Did you pay for your little rescue?" Annabeth asked. At this Percy's happiness deflated.

"No…" he admitted with a sigh.

"Return them or pay for them." Annabeth ordered fiercely.

"Fine. I'll go pay. Can you keep them company?" Percy pleaded. His girlfriend merely raised an eyebrow before sighing and sliding down onto the cool tile.

"I'm giving you thirty minutes. Starting now." Annabeth warned and before she could blink Percy was out the door.

What an idiot.
