"Irony I think you call it." Cosima had a frown on her face, her eyes not moving from the progression in front of her.
"Poetic almost." She said softly and Cosima gave a small sob.
"It is an odd thing how fate brought us to the moment, so unexpected in the turn of events." The tears were flowing freely down the Scientist's cheeks yet her eyes remained unmoving, she gave no recognition to any of the words spoken.
"It was always expected the other way around. So much time spent worrying about your future, your health, your life. Neither one of us stopped and considered this ending." Cosima didn't react again and she sighed, feeling defeated but she pressed on.
"So scared was I, to live with out you, Mon cœur. That I never considered a future where we would be apart in a different way." She brushed her hand over Cosima's cheek, seeing the woman shiver.
"Who knew that I would be the one to die first?" She gave a bitter laugh. "Poetic justice. The universe is quite cruel in it's doing. I will miss you, ma cherie." She closed her eyes for a second before opening them again, watching the progression now herself. She watched as in turn her parents and a few select friends stepped to the pedastal to speak over her body and then finally Cosima stood up, looking a wreck but rubbing the tears from her eyss and taking a deep breath, trying to muster the courage to speak. It was then that Delphine felt the pull and knew it was time to go, they had allowed her a last wish of seeing Cosima for a few moments. She walked up and gave a unfelt kiss to the brunette's cheek before turning around and walking away.
"Je t'aime Cosima." She whispered before dissolving into nothing.
It was then that Cosima lifted her hand to brush over her cheek, allowing herself a small smile before continueing her speech.
