A/N: This is my first fan fiction... So no clue how it will go. This is written from my o/c pov and based on the 2k12 series of TMNT, I'm going to say this story takes place after season three some time, hopefully they have all their major problems solved by that point. This first chapter is mainly an introduction to my o/c, K. now enough said lets dive into the first chapter.
Disclaimer: I simply do not own the turtles, it's quite unfortunate.
***Ignore all that above this was when I first wrote this story at the beginning of season three. After the series progress I have changed this to be more around the time before the turtles go to space but after shredder was mutated.I'm also gonna warn you any new readers that I have a long four chapters of introduction before Koda meets the turtles.***
I took a deep breath of the crisp Autumn air that surrounded me and took my traditional hunting bow from my shoulder.
"It's a great day for hunting Dovender." I spoke to my dog, a red Alaskan husky, she looked at me from her sitting position, her blue-green eyes gazing at me. I stood by her side petting her head, I observed the view from our special ledge on the face of the mountain that towered over my family's property. It was going to be a beautiful fall day, the sun slowly rose from low in the horizon, creating all sorts of shades of pinks, oranges, and reds, highlighting the high clouds in the sky. From here you could see many mountains beyond that, covered by pines, cedars, and hemlocks up their slopes until the altitude was too high and they could no longer grow. Below the mountain was our very large property in a valley, deep within the mountains of Northern Idaho. About fifty acres were cleared for our home and farm, the rest of the two hundred acres was forest and a large lake connecting to the open field of the property.
My house was a large, orange-brown, two story house, the outside walls were half logs giving it a log cabin look. It had a porch welcoming you to the front, then on the other end of the house was a stone patio that held a fire place and wood stacked on either side. The roof was a dark brown with a brick chimney in the middle, the house it's self matched it's surroundings, almost belonged there. Our three horses grazed in their large pasture, and in the pastures next to them were the cows, goats, and ducks who had their own personal pond. I loved this place on the mountain, it was my four brothers' and mine, no one knew except us, we had a huge tepee in the woods just behind the ledge. We had fires and camped here for days when we could, I was tomboy growing up with four brothers, third oldest, and the best hunter as far as I was concerned.
The order of my siblings, going from oldest to youngest went from Brady being eighteen, John, sixteen as I was, Vance who was fourteen, and James the youngest being twelve. John and I were twins, He was a red head and I had dark brown hair with red highlights, he had bright hazel eyes and I had bright indigo eyes, we didn't look like twins but we were. Brady had light brown hair and light grey-blue eyes, Vance was a blonde with blue eyes like mine, and James had jet black hair with hazel eyes. We had quite the variety of features. But we all, save for Vance, were either blessed or cursed with freckles, I saw it as a cool thing but my brothers not so much. Ever since we were little we were all very close and explored the woods, learned to hunt, whittle, and a bunch of other survival skills together. I would never give it up for anything and I would to the death for them.
"Come on Koda, James, Dovender! Lets go! Have a long day of hunting ahead." Brady called us from behind interrupting my reminiscing. James, Dovender, and I jogged into the woods to follow our eldest brother. All five of us hiked through the woods looking for tracks and checking our traps, whistling in unison as we went. My brothers all had guns save for Brady and I who preferred traditional bows. They began to chat among themselves I listened, not usually the one with stories to tell. I was introvert of the family.
"Hey did you guys hear 'bout Randy?" Vance started.
"No, what?" Brady asked.
"He got angry at a teacher for saying his essay was too short and burned the paper on the spot." John answered. James wasn't yet in high school so he just stayed silent with me and listened to the nonsense.
"Dude, that guy always has a problem." Brady commented.
"Yeah, got suspended, fourth time this school year." Laughed John. Everyone chuckled save for James and I.
"The kid has a few issues guys, it's not all that funny, honestly." I said rolling my eyes sarcastically.
"It is if you have every class with the guy and you watch it all go down." John said. I sighed and rolled my eyes, I was in almost every class with the kid and I still did not find his actions least bit funny. We came to a small clearing and stopped.
"Alright guys, lets see what we can find. Stay on the trails and don't... don't go wanderin' off 'cause then it's my fault if you get lost and I gotta find you." Brady irritably said the last part.
"It's always your fault, should just get lost on purpose, to send you on a wild goose chase." John uttered.
Brady sighed, "what ever John, you take James."
With that we all split up and Dovender and I headed North, I was following my 'special sense' as I called it, I could sense any life within about fifty foot area around me, which was what made me such a great hunter. John was the only one who knew, though he did not possess this ability, he discovered it when he noticed I was winning every game of hide and seek. He asked what cameras I had set up and I told him straight up out about the ability. He then tested it by blind folding me turning me around, hiding, then asking me exactly where he was, his position, and what he was doing, to which I answered all correctly. From then on I used it for hunting and brought home the biggest deer, elk, and turkeys. We agreed to keep it a secret between twins.
I was following a large buck, when another presence came into my "radar", it was close and just appeared there, it shifted, and I swung my loaded bow in it's direction, bowstring ready to be released. This presence was strange, I never sensed anything like this before, it was completely foreign to me, it felt evil, and I wasn't taking a chance.
"Come out before I shoot!" I shouted at this presence, my dog, usually the one to defend me, cowered behind me.
