Disclaimer: I own nothing, sadly, but my characters and my plot. If I did own Star Wars something's would have gone different.

"Gather round, younglings. A story to tell this Jedi has." Said Master Yoda as a young female Jedi walked in. She was slim and tall, about 5'10, but at the same time she looked sturdy and strong. Her long brown hair tied in an enormous bun near the top of her head. With her street clothes on, a layered tan sleeveless top and black leggings with a pair of brown boots, she looked more like a bounty hunter than an elite Jedi Master. To add on to her unruly look she had a brown leather belt sagging on her waist with her lightsaber hanging from it, on the other side halfway down her thigh a blaster holster was hooked on to a leather strap tied around her thigh. She had a high cheek bone and the most piercing blood red, reptilian slit eyes. But what made the children stare were the black scales that started at either side of her neck and went in a strip down the side of her arms. She smiled at the children revealing two pointed canine teeth. They sat down on the ground looking expectantly at the Jedi. "Master Yoda, you called?" She asked in a low melodic voice. "Call you, I did. A story to share you have." Turning back to the young Jedi in training he said "Master Tenebris, this is. Her second life, she lives." A small Twi'lek with big eyes looked up at her in awe, she looked to be 5-6 years old. "Well if you want the full story it might take a while." She gracefully sat down on the floor crossing her legs. She looked up as Master Yoda sat down with her. "Master?" Nova looked at him expectantly. "Get old, this story never does." With that she turned to the children. "It all started when I was your age."

...

"My name is Nova Tenebris." I stated to the droid as it pricked her finger to get a blood sample. "Age." The droid said in a terse voice. "Seven, my birthday just passed." I responded proudly. The droid typed something in. "Next." It said. I move to the line of force sensitive children going into the temple. It was the start of a new year and the Jedi did there normal pull of children. Not that I understood any of that back then. All I knew was I had special skilled and that's why I had to leave mommy and daddy back home. It was really hard at first but after the long ride from my outer rim planet to the temple I had gotten over it. Not only that but I had made a friend too. Her name was Luna Fiducia. With her short white hair, grey fox ears that were at the top of her head, icy blue eyes, and black facial marks that looked like tribal tattoos, she looked more like a deadly machine than a child. She was a bit of a troublemaker but hey, it wasn't like I was some perfect student. Behind me I heard her yelling at the droid. "Why do I have to give you anything!" I quickly walked over to her. Putting my hand on her arm. We would start a bad year if we got into a fight the first day. "Calm yourself my friend. We don't want to make enemies. At least not yet." I said as I looked around. After reluctantly give the droid her information she walked with me to the entrance. We were escorted to the barracks by the Jedi that found us. Today we would unpack and explore are wing of the compound, not that it was that big, in fact it was tiny. But I guess that's the humble Jedi way of life. In each room there was a small bunk bed and an even smaller bathroom attached. Beside the beds were two small chairs that could be doubled as mediation stations. "You want to be my roommate?" I asked Luna. "Do I have any other friends to bunk with?" She said sarcastically. We walked in with our small handbags, the Jedi didn't permit attachments so the younglings were only allowed a few of their positions to be taken. On the side of the bunk there were a few drawers with clothes already in them. They were all very loose fitting so one size fits all. I opened my bag and pulled out a family picture, an undying flower my father had given me, a medallion like necklace my mother had given me and a note telling me to never forget where I come from or who I am. Safely wrapped in a cloth were a pair of dog tags. They had my name, date of birth, blood type, parents, place of birth, species, and religion. "Wow... What's that all about?" Luna asked as she looked over my shoulder. "My father was a general in our planet's army. When I was born he got these for me. My mother had them put away until I was older, she was an admiral and thought they pulled children into the service to early. They were both highly respected on my planet." I though about it for a moment. "What about your family?" I asked tentatively. Her expression went blank "I grew up on the streets. When I was a baby I was supposedly stolen from my family. I don't know who they are." I slowly blink once, a sign on my planet that means yes or I understand. "What are you doing with you eyes?" Luna noticed. "Oh sorry, that means yes on my planet. Better get use to it, old habits die hard." I respond. "Yeah well I think I can do that if you get use to my habits." She said with a smirk. And with that the roots of a great friendship took hold.
